ICFAI Business School Aptitude Test (IBSAT) was organized every year by Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India (ICFAI) University. The test is conducted to check the candidates ability in quantitate techniques, data adequacy, data interpretation, analytical reasoning, vocabulary and reading comprehension.
IBSAT offers 2 year fulltime MBA program at IBS Hyderabad, IBS Dehradun, IBS Jaipur & IBS Bangalore; 4 year Ph.D program at IBS Hyderabad and 2 year full time PGPM (Post-Graduate Program in Management) at 5 IBS campuses- Ahmedabad, Pune, Kolkata, Mumbai & Gurgaon.
In 2023, IBSAT will be conducted in the 4th week of December. Its registrations began on 1st July 2023 and will end by the 3rd week of December. The selection process for IBS admissions is carried out in February-March.

IBSAT 2023 – Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must fulfill the following prescribed IBSAT 2023 eligibility criteria to apply successfully for the exam:
- Graduation in any discipline with at least 50% marks
- Candidates in the final year of graduation can also apply
- At least 15 years of formal education (10+2+3 or 10+2+4).
- For PhD programme, an additional two-year full-time Post Graduation in Management or other professional qualification like CA/ICWA with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent will be required.
- Medium of Instructions must be English at UG level, or the candidates need to submit scores of TOEFL/NELT/IELTS by May 31, 2024.
- There is no age limit for the IBSAT exam.

IBSAT 2023 – Application Process
Candidates must fill the application form within the given time period, as there would not be any provision for submitting the IBSAT registrations 2023 beyond the deadline. Application form can be filled only in online mode. The application process starts with the creation of a login ID and password and ends with the payment of the application fee of INR 1800.
IBSAT 2023 – How To Apply
- Visit the official website of IBSAT
- Click on the ‘Apply Online’ tab.
- Fill all the required information including personal details, address, contact number, and email id.
- Submit the application
- After submission you will receive a registered ID and Password on your registered number or email ID.
- Login using the application ID and password
- Fill IBSAT 2023 application form by entering personal and academic details.
- Upload the photograph and signature in the prescribed format and dimensions.
- Pay IBSAT application fee of INR 1800 by using online payment gateways (Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card).
- Click on the ‘Finish’ button for the final submission of the form.
- After the application form for IBSAT 2023 is successfully submitted, the registration number will be displayed on the screen.
- Save a keep a copy of application form and details for further processing.

- The application fee for the IBSAT exam is Rs. 1800/-.
- The payment can be done via net banking or debit/ credit card.
- For offline payment, candidates can make the payment directly through an IBS center.

IBSAT 2023 – Exam Pattern
The exam pattern of IBSAT 2023 is mentioned on its official website. The IBSAT exam pattern contains all the details pertaining to the exam such as the type of questions, mode of the exam, marks distribution, etc. As per the IBSAT 2023 exam pattern, the paper will be divided into four sections: Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Ability, Data Adequacy & Data Interpretation, and Verbal Ability. In IBSAT 2023 marking scheme, for every correct answer, a +1 mark will be awarded, and no negative marking for incorrect or unattempted questions.
- The medium of language to answer the question will be English only.
- There will be no sectional time limit.
- You are allowed to attempt any section at a time.
- There are no negative marks.
- However, you have to complete the whole paper within 2 hours.
- The general cut off for IBS Hyderabad is around 73 to 75 marks out of 140.

IBSAT 2023 – Preparation Tips

IBSAT 2023 – Admit Card
The IBSAT admit card will be released at the time of slot booking. Slot booking can be downloaded via online mode from November 2023. To download the admit card, candidates are required a login ID and password.
The candidates need to carry the admit card with them while appearing for the examination. The admit card contain all the essential details like candidate name, roll no, venue of the exam, date, and time.
IBSAT 2023 – Result
IBSAT result is released in the form of a scorecard containing the overall and sectional scores of the candidates. IBSAT 2023 result expected to be declared by 1st week of January 2024. Candidates can download their IBSAT scorecard by entering their application number and password/ date of birth on the official website. The steps to download the score card is given below:

- Click on the link for ‘IBSAT 2023 Result’
- Enter your login credentials- application number and password and click on the ‘login’ tab.
- Your scorecard will be displayed on the screen. Download and take a printout for future reference.
IBSAT 2023 – Cut Off
IBSAT 2023 cut off will be declared after IBSAT 2023 result is out. Based on the previous year’s cut-off analysis, it can be observed that IBSAT Cut off usually ranges between 65 to 75 percentile.
IBSAT 2023 – Selection Process
The selection process for IBSAT 2023 is for candidates who qualifies on the basis of IBSAT/ GMAT/ XAT/ CAT/ NMAT by GMAC. During the selection process candidates have to face group discussions and personal interviews (GD & PI). It will be held from February 2024 at IBS Hyderabad.
At the time of final selection for admission, the related authority will consider candidates’ past academic records, and performance in PI and GD. Final selection will be done on the basis of past academic records, & performance of candidates in GD, PI.

Q: Does IBSAT accept CAT score?
Ans: There are candidates who are exempted from taking IBSAT. They are directly called for IBSAT Group Discussion and Personal Interview. In order to avail of this facility, candidates must have a valid score in any of the following exams: CAT, GMAT, and NMAT by GMAC.
Q : Will IBSAT 2023 be conducted in offline or online?
Ans: The exam for IBSAT 2023 will be held via online & offline both modes.
