The Indian Air Force Agniveer selection process is going to have three phases online test, PFT, adaptability test and medical verification. Indian Air Force Agniveer Selection Process 2022
Indian Air Force has released an official notification for recruitment of Agniveer in Indian Armed Force. The Indian Air Force Agniveer selection process is going to have three phases online test, PFT, adaptability test and medical verification. The written examination shall be conducted in the online mode with questions from three subjects: English, Mathematics, Physics and Reasoning ability.
It is an All India Selection Test which will be conducted online at different centers. The test will be conducted in both English and Hindi language except for the English paper. The paper will be of 10+2 level.
According to Air Marshal SK Jha, the first batch would be enrolled by December and training would commence by December 30th, 2022. Once enrolled into the IAF, Agniveers will be governed under the Air Force Act 1950, for four years. They would form a distinct rank in the Indian Air Force, different from any other existing ranks. For Agniveers below the age of 18, the enrolment form will need to be signed by the parents or guardians, in accordance with extant provisions.
Indian Air Force Agniveer Selection Process: Written Exam (Phase I)
The initial stage in the Indian Navy Agniveer Selection Process is Written Examination.
Indian Air Force Agniveer Exam Pattern 2022
- Indian Air Force Agniveer Phase I will comprise of an online test.
- The examination shall be conducted in bilingual (English and Hindi) language.
- The questions asked in the Indian Air Force Agniveer exam shall be of objective type.
- Every correct answer will be awarded one mark and there will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.
- The test for candidates opting for both Science subjects and other than Science subjects shall be conducted in one sitting, on the same system.

Indian Air Force Agniveer Selection Process: (Phase II)
Candidates who have qualified and been shortlisted based on their performance in Phase I will be called for the Phase II round of the selection process. This phase II have multiple stages the details of which can be found below.
Document Verification
The candidates have to make sure that the following documents are carried to phase 2 of the Indian Air Force Agniveer selection process.
- Colour printout of Indian Air Force Agniveer admit card for Phase-II.
- Colour printout of duly filled application form downloaded on completion of online registration.
- Eight copies of unattested passport size colour photograph (which was used for the online application registration).
- Original and four self-attested photocopies of matriculation passing certificate (required for verification of candidate’s name, father’s name and his date of birth).
- Original and four self-attested photocopies of matriculation marks sheet (only applicable for three years Diploma Course holders when English is not a subject in diploma course).
- Original and four self-attested photocopies of Intermediate/10+2/equivalent examination passing certificate and marksheet.
OR
- Original and four self-attested photocopies of three years diploma course passing certificate and marks sheets of all semesters.
OR
- Original and four self-attested photocopies of two years vocational course passing certificates and all marks sheets including a non-vocational course with subjects English, Physics and Mathematics.
- Certificate for SOAFP (Son of Air Force Personnel), including a certificate for sons of serving/retired/ deceased Air Force civilian employees paid out of defence estimates is to be downloaded as the case may be, from the download section of CASB web portal and brought along while reporting for Phase – II of the examination.
- Original Phase-I admit card used during Phase-I test bearing Air Force seal and invigilator’s signature.
- Original and four self-attested photocopies of NCC ‘A’, ‘B’ or ‘C’ certificate (if applicable).

Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
Qualified candidates in the document verification round will have to undergo on Physical Fitness Test (PFT) round conducted by Air Force recruitment board. Physical Fitness Standards listed in the table below.

Adaptability Test- I
Candidates who pass the Physical Fitness Test will have to undertake Adaptability Test I. This is an objective type written test to assess the suitability of a candidate for employment in the Indian Air Force. This Adaptability Test I shall check the involvement of deployment in varied geographic terrain, weather and operational conditions.
Adaptability Test- II
All the candidates who qualify Adaptability Test-I shall have to undertake Adaptability Test-II as per policy in vogue. Adaptability Test-II is to select the candidate’s ability to adapt to the environment of the Indian Air Force and be able to adjust to the military way of life.
Indian Air Force Agniveer Selection Process: Medical Test (Phase III)
Candidates who have qualified in Adaptability Test II as well as the Phase II round of selection process will have to undertake a medical test. Medical tests that shall be conducted can be checked is outlined below.
- Blood Haemogram – Hb, TLC, DLC
- Urine RE/ME
- Biochemistry
- Blood Sugar Fasting & PP
- Serum Cholesterol
- Urea, Uric acid, Creatinine
- LFT- Serum Bilirubin, SGOT, SGPT
- X-Ray chest (PA view)
- ECG (R)
- Tests for Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Abuse.
- Any other test necessary in the opinion of the Medical Officer

Indian Air Force Agniveer Selection process 2022: Eligibility Criteria
The Indian Air Force Agniveer Eligibility Criteria 2022 detailed in the notification PDF available on the Indian Air Force’s official website. Candidates who meet the required eligibility criteria of Indian Air Force recruitment process can apply for the post of Indian Air Force Agniveer.
Age Limit
Candidates born between 29 December 1999 and 29 June 2005 (both days inclusive) are eligible to apply. In case, a candidate clears all the stages of the Selection Process, then the upper age limit of date of enrolment is 21 years.
Educational Qualification
Science Subjects
Candidates should have passed Intermediate/ 10+2/ Equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and English from an education board listed as COBSE member with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
OR
Should have passed three years Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Automobile/ Computer Science/ Instrumentation Technology/ Information Technology) from a Government recognized Polytechnic institute with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in diploma course (or in Intermediate/ Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Diploma Course).
OR
Should have passed two years vocational course with non-vocational subject like Physics and Maths from State Education Boards/ Councils which are listed in COBSE with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in vocational course (or in Intermediate/ Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Vocational Course).
Other than Science Subjects
Candidates should have passed Intermediate / 10+2 / Equivalent Examination in any subject approved by Central/ State Education Boards listed as COBSE member with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
OR
Passed two years vocational course from Education Boards listed as COBSE member with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in vocational course or in Intermediate/ Matriculation if English is not a subject in Vocational Course.

Nationality
An Indian Air Force Agniveer applicant has to be a citizen of India or Nepal.
Physical Standards 2022
Candidates must qualify the physical fitness test in the second stage of Indian Air Force agniveer selection process. The following are the physical standards prescribed by Indian Air Force for the Indian Air Force Agniveer examination.

Body Tattoo
Candidates with permanent body tattoos shall not be permitted to join, however, tattoos only on inner face of the forearms (inside of elbow to the wrist), back (dorsal) part of the hand/ reverse side of palm and for Tribal tattoos which are as per custom and traditions of their tribes may be considered. However, right to decide on acceptability/unacceptability of the individual shall rest with the selection center.
Hair and Beard
Only Sikh candidates shall be permitted to grow hair and/ or retain beard and moustache. Accordingly, those Sikh candidates willing to retain the same as per laid down specification are to get their photographs with beard and moustache. Such candidates will not be permitted to grow/ have beard/ moustache at later stage after enrolment.
Indian Air Force Agniveer Allotment 2022
The Combined marks for written exam, Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Adaptability Test I and Adaptability Test II will be considered for the final selection of the candidates.
