On 24th Februrary, Rear Admiral Ajay Kochhar took over Rear Admiral Krishna Swaminathan at a formal ceremony as the Flag Officer Commanding Western Fleet (FOCWF). The ceremony was held onboard the aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya. With this, he has taken over the charge as the Assistant Controller of Carrier Projects and Assistant Controller of Warships Production and Acquisition. He will be overseeing the construction and acquisition aspects of warships for the Indian Navy.
Ajay Kocchar joined the Indian Navy on July 1, 1988. He is a specialist in gunnery and Missile welfare. He commanded five warships during his 32-year-old career.
