Who Was St. Valentine?

Valentine’s day is celebrated as the feast day of Saint Valentine. The Roman Empire Claudius II executed two priests of the same name Valentine on February 14 but of different years. The whole event happened in the AD 3rd Century. One of the St. Valentines was martyred and then sowed on the Via Flaminia which is located to the north of Rome. Archaeologists have excavated a Roman catacomb later along with the Catacomb an ancient congregation earmarked to St. Valentine was also found after much research and study. According to the legend, Emperor Claudius II restricted warriors from betrothal to women.  Valentine disobeyed the charges and privately wedded youthful mates to limit grooms from conflict. The daughter was his friend and was being healed from blindness through Saint Valentine’s touch. Pope Gelasius in 496 A.D. celebrated February 14 as a day to respect and pay tribute to the great saint. Valentine’s Day. Valentine’s day was the born day of marry Saint Valentine. Roman Catholic Church later removed St. Valentine due to the lack of reliable evidence or source of knowledge from the Roman Calendar in 1969.
