Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has recently released a Press release regarding the download of computerized examination admit card for the post of Jail Officer (Male) and Jail Officer (Female) of Prisons and Correctional Department of Tamil Nadu Jails which is scheduled to be held on December 26, 2022, in morning and afternoon.

The hall ticket for the applicants who were provisionally admitted for the exam has already been made available on the Commission’s websites, www.tnpsc.gov.in and www.tnpscexams.in. Only through the candidate’s one-time registration (OTR Dashboard) and entering their application number and date of birth can the memorandum of admission (Admit Card) be downloaded, according to the notification.
The recruitment drive aims to fill up a total of 6 vacancies of Jailor (Men) and 2 of Jailor (Special Prison for Women) in Tamil Nadu Jail Service. The pay scale is Rs 36,900 – 1,35,100 (Level 18)

TNPSC Jailor Selection Process 2022
The selection for the TNPSC Jailor post will be made in two successive stages:
- Written Examination
- Oral Test in the shape of an interview.
TNPSC Jailor Eligibility Criteria 2022
Eligibility Criteria act as a gateway to attend the selection process. The applicants will be rejected if any of them do not meet the eligibility. The authority also has the right to reject the candidate’s application in case the eligibility criteria doesn’t match. The eligibility criteria in terms of age, educational qualification, physical qualification, knowledge of Tamil, etc is mentioned below:

Age Relaxation
- For “Others”, Differently Abled Persons are eligible for age concession upto 10 years over and above the maximum age limit prescribed above.
- No maximum age limit for the applicants who belong to SCs, SCs(A), STs, MBC/DCs, BCs (Other than Muslims) and BCMs.
- The maximum age limit is 48 years for “Others” (i.e) applicants not belonging to any of the above said categories.
- The above mentioned age concession will not apply to Ex-Servicemen applicants who have already been recruited to any class or service or category.
Educational Qualification
(For both the posts of Jailor (Men) and Jailor (Women))
- A degree of any of the Universities recognized by the University Grants Commission.
