TNUSRB Sub Inspector of Police Exam Selection Procedure
This examination is a five tier system that a candidate has to pass these following steps to get enlisted. Separate selection methods are for both open category and department candidates.
Tier-1 Written Examination
This stage is an offline mode examination. This is an objective type exam in which open category maximum mark will be 70 marks and for department quota it will be of 85marks.
Tier-2 Physical Measurement Test/Physical Efficiency Test/endurance test
Those who qualify in the first tier can only write the tier 2 exam. For open category candidates, they have to qualify physical measurement test and endurance test. It is qualifying in nature with maximum mark of 15. Ex-servicemen, Ex-CPMF, serving candidates who will retire within one year are exempted from this tier-2 exam. For department candidates endurance test has to be passed.

Tier-3- Viva-Voce
Those who qualify in the tier-2 will be called for a viva-voce exam of about 10 marks.
Tier-4 Special Marks
NCC/SCC open candidates will get special marks of about 5. In the case of departmental candidates 5 marks will be awarded for those have medals in National Police Duty Meet
Tier 5- Medical Examination and Document Verification
Candidates who have passed all four sages will be selected provisionally in the post of sub inspector. These selected ones will again undergo a medical test. After all document verification, they are finally officially selected.
