The Uttar Pradesh PSC has published the UPPSC PCS 2018 Mains results. Comparing to the previous 10 PCS 2018 was the largest recruitment drive of its kind conducted by the UPPSC till date. PCS 2018 was to select candidates towards 988 posts of 40 different kinds which include 119 posts of deputy collector and 94 posts of deputy SP.

UPPSC Upper Subordinate Services Selection
The Uttar Pradesh PSC conducts the Upper Subordinate Services Selection exam to recruit candidates towards 14 different positions across the state services, including the Deputy Collector post. Different posts and the required education qualification for these posts area s follows:

PCS Selection Process
The UPPSC Combined State / Upper Subordinate Services, and Assistant Conservator of Forest / Range Forest Officer Services Examination, has three successive stages viz:-
- Preliminary Examination (Objective Multiple Choice)
- Main Examination (Conventional Written examination)
- Viva- Voce (Personality Test)

UPPSC PCS Mains Result 2018
The UP PCS (preliminary) 2018 test was held, along with the recruitment exam for Assistant Conservator of Forest/ Range Forest Officer, on October 28, 2018, at 1381 centres the state. 19,096 candidates have appeared for the mains exam for the 988 posts on offer.
PSC has selected 976 candidates towards the 988 vacant positions PSC has not selected any candidates towards the Information Officer and District Information Officer posts, since there were no suitable candidates. There were 12 vacancies across these two positions. The women candidates have bagged three of the top five positions in the UPPSC PCS mains result.
