Eligibility Criteria for Sub Inspector of Fisheries
Age Limit
It is notified like the minimum age limit is 18 years and the maximum is 36 years, the maximum age varies for each category. And, if it notified like No maximum age, it means that the candidates should not be more than 58 years of age either on the date of Notification or at the time of selection/ appointment to the post. The maximum age will be calculated as of the notification date.
Required Educational Qualification
The educational qualification/s required for the Sub Inspector posts as per the notification is:
Associate Diploma in Fisheries Science of the Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Bombay, or a Certificate of successful completion of the full course of Inland or Marine Fisheries classes conducted by the Government of India, or, a Diploma in Fisheries Technology and Navigation awarded by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Tamil Nadu, or, a Science Degree with Zoology as the main subject awarded by any University or Institution recognized by the University Grants Commission, or, a Degree of Bachelor of Fisheries Science awarded by any University or Institution recognized by the University Grants Commission Other & Special Qualification
The equivalent qualifications considered are that awarded by the approved respective University, Deemed University as per the G.O like the 5-year integrated courses offered by the Annamalai University as equivalent to corresponding UG degree B.Sc. Zoology, B.Sc. (Animal Science and Bio-Technology, B.Sc. (Advanced Zoology and Bio-Technology, B.Sc. (Zoology with Bio-Technology), B.Sc. Environmental Zoology, B.Sc. Advanced Zoology and Bio-Technology, B.Sc. Zoology Specialization in Biotechnology

Exam Pattern for TNPSC Sub Inspector of Fisheries
The SI Fisheries exam pattern consists of Paper I Subject Paper and Paper-II General Studies. The examination duration for Paper I is 3 hours and that of Paper II is 2 hours. Paper I can be selected by aspirants according to their graduation. The choices for Paper I include Degree Standard Zoology, Degree Standard Fisheries Science, and Diploma Standard Fisheries Science. The total number of questions for Paper I is 200 Questions and the maximum number of marks awarded is 300.
Now, for the Paper-II, Diploma Standard General Studies, Aptitude and Mental Ability of the SSLC Standard. And Paper II consists of 100 Questions [General Studies – 75 Questions, Mental Ability – 25 Questions]. The 2 hours exam will have a maximum mark of 200.
Then the shortlisted candidates will be called for Interview and document verification. The Interview consists of 70 marks. So, the total marks will be out of 570 marks.
