The official notification released by the CISF regarding recruitment of Assistant Sub Inspectors (ASI) has invited applications from eligible candidates to fill a total of 647 vacancies. The breakdown of vacancies according to the categories in shown in the table below:

CISF ASI 2022 Recruitment – Eligibility Criteria
The CISF will be recruiting Assistant Sub Inspectors (ASI) for a total of 647 vacancies. Only those candidates who satisfy the criteria that has been set forward by the CISF will be considered for the vacancies. All candidates are urged to have a look at the notification and ensure that they satisfy the criteria laid down by the CISF.
CISF ASI 2022 Eligibility Criteria – Age Limit
The official notification by CISF states that the candidates must be of the age of 35 years as on 01.08.2021. He / she must not be born earlier than 02.08.1986.
Age relaxation applicable will be as follows:
- Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates will get 5 years relaxation in the upper age limit.
- Other Backward Class (OBC) will not be given any age relaxation as there are no vacancies reserved for this category. Candidates belonging to OBC category can apply as general candidates.
CISF ASI 2022 Eligibility Criteria – Educational Qualification
According the notification, CISF requires ASI aspirants to be a graduate from any recognized university.
CISF ASI 2022 Eligibility Criteria – Service Eligibility
For the post of Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI), CISF requires candidates who have the following experience at work:
- Candidates who have completed five years of regular service including basic training in the grade as on 01.08.2021 (i.e. those who have been appointed in the force on or before 31.07.2016)
- Candidates who have five years combined regular service as Head Constable / GD, Constable / GD and Constable / Tradesmen (TM) as on 01.08.2021 (i.e. those who have been appointed in the force on or before 31.07.2016).
CISF ASI 2022 Eligibility Criteria – Physical Standards
CISF has set certain criteria regarding the physical standard for recruitment of ASI. Only those candidates who fulfill these criteria will be considered eligible for the post.

Chest Width
For male candidates:
- Candidates belonging to all categories except Scheduled Tribe: 80 – 85 cm
- Candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribe: 77 – 82 cm
For female candidates:
The chest width requirement is not applicable for female candidates.
Weight Requirement
For both male and female candidates:
Candidates, both male and female, belonging to all the categories are required to have weight corresponding to their height and age as per medical standards.
Note: Any changes in the eligibility criteria will be notified by CISF on their official website.
It should be noted that applications of candidates who do not meet the eligibility criteria will be rejected by CSIF. Candidates should ensure that they meet the criteria set down by CISF in order to avoid rejection.

CISF ASI 2022 Eligibility Criteria – Medical Conditions
According to the medical standards set by MHA, the candidates visual standards should be as follows:
- Visual Activity unaided (Near Vision) – Better eye: N6, Worse eye: N9
- Uncorrected Visual Activity (Distant Vision) – Better eye: 6/6, Worse eye: 6/9
- Refraction – Visual correction of any kind is not permitted.
The candidates should not have knock knee, squint eyes, flat foot or varicose vein. The candidates should be physically fit and should be free from all visible deformities.

Candidates aspiring to be an ASI should realize that getting through the selection process is not an easy one. CISF’s selection process for the recruitment of Assistant Sub Inspectors is a five stage process.
- Stage I: Checking of service records
- Stage II: Written Examination
- Stage III: Physical Standard Test
- Stage IV: Physical Efficiency Test
- Stage V: Detailed Medical Examination
