Assam Public Service Commission is looking for an empathetic veterinary Officer to prevent and treat illnesses in our practice’s patients and to improve their health and well-being. The veterinarian’s patients will include dogs, cats, hamsters, rats, birds, and closely related animals. You will collaborate with team members to uphold ethical practices and medical standards, and to share veterinary knowledge.
Veterinarians perform various functions to keep livestock and household animals in good health, here is a job description example showing the common tasks, duties, and responsibilities associated with the role:
- Inspect the quality of veterinary medicine, products, and other things delivered to the department
- Prepare a roadmap for the treatment of animals that are isolated or abandoned
- Issue licence to different veterinary stores by going through the products quality that they have

- Raise public awareness regarding the different diseases of animals, and other breeding factors applicable to them

- A Candidate must have a Degree in Bachelor of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science (B.V.Sc & A.H) from any recognized university.
- The candidate must be the permanent resident of Assam.

- The candidates should not be less than 21 years of age and not more than 38 years of age as on 1st January 2022.
- The age limit of candidates will be calculated on the basis of Matriculation/ HSLC Admit card or pass certificate issued by recognized Central/ State Board/ Council.
Age Relaxation
The upper age limit is relaxable :
- By 5 years for SC/ST candidates, i.e. upto 43 years.
