Age Limit:
Candidates from the unreserved category should not be more than the age of 40 years, whereas the upper age limit for SC/ST/OSC/ALC/IB/RBA/PSP/EWS category candidates is 43 years as on January 1, 2022.

The selection will be done on the basis of the Preliminary examination, Main examination and Personality test.
- Preliminary Examination (Objective Type) for short listing of the candidates for Mains examination.
- Mains Examination (Descryptive Type) for the short listing of the candidates for Personality Test (Interview).

The Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission will conduct a 3 stage Examination to select the candidates for the posts of J&K Prosecuting officer. The candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their performances in the following exams.

1. Preliminary Examination
This stage-1 of the JKPSC Prosecuting Officer selection process is the Preliminary Written Examination. It shall consist of two papers each of 200 marks. The preliminary examination is for shortlisting the candidates for the main examination. The detailed subject and distribution of mark is given below

Candidates 3 times the vacancies in order of merit will be called for the interview. The interview will be carried out for 200 marks.
