OET Re-marking is done to remark your answers so as to ensure that your scores truly reflect your performance on the test day. If the candidates believe their sub-test results are not accurate, They can request remarking. Such requests are received, reviewed, and resolved in a fair and transparent manner. After remarking, you scores may go up or down or may even remain the same. You will have to wait 3 to 6 weeks to receive the outcome. If there is a grade change, the remarking fee will be reimbursed. If the outcome of your re-marking does not change your grade, you will not be refunded.
The OET Re-marking Policy aims to ensure that candidates can request a re-mark of one or more sub-tests if they believe that their results do not reflect their performance on the test.

Why is OET Re-marking Done?
If you are not satisfied with your final results and you feel that you have performed better, you can get your OET re-marking done. You should request for a remarking and this should be done within 72 hours of the results being released. Requests received after this period will not be accepted.
Once the request is placed, the paper will be remarked by two people who haven’t assessed your paper earlier. They will then do the assessment on the basis of the marking criteria. It is based on the assessment criteria of the relevant subject. If the assessors come to a different score, a third independent assessor will mark the paper. The scores will then be adjusted accordingly.
The scores of all the sections will then be sent to a team of language experts at the University of Cambridge. They conduct a statistical analysis to ensure that the scores genuinely reflect the person’s ability. An assessment manager will then confirm whether there is a difference between the original and remarked score. On myOET, your updated Statement of Results will be available for download within 24 hours with your new results.

- If your current score a little lower than your desired grade and you are confident that you could have achieved that grade, then you can try remarking. But if a change in score won’t change the grade then remarking is not recommended.
- If your scores are reasonably high, remarking is not recommended as it is unlikely that it will go higher than that.
