Army Public School Recruitment 2022 Selection Process
The selection of teachers will take place in three stages. Stages 2 and 3 will take place concurrently under the supervision of the Board of Administration at HQ Command/School Management.
Stage 1: Online Screening Test (OST)
On the 5th and 6th of November 2022, an ‘Online Screening Test’ will be held for vacancies that will arise during the Academic Year 2023-24. To ensure uniform quality of teachers in all Army Public Schools, this test will be administered centrally and online by an agency designated by HQ AWES. Those who attend the examination will receive a scorecard that is valid for life as long as the candidate acquires a teaching job in any CBSE-affiliated school within three years of the date of passing the online screening test for a continuous duration of at least one year. A Score Card entitles a candidate to participate in the remaining stages of the selection process. Please be aware that merely possessing a score card does not automatically qualify a candidate for a position as a teacher in any Army public school. It only makes the candidate eligible for stages 2 and 3 of the selection process. The following individuals may also show up for the online screening test in addition to new applicants:
- Score Card holders who want to better their scores.
- Those who want to improve themselves. For instance, candidates who already have a TGT score card might want to get a PGT score card now that they have added qualifications.
List of Subjects for the Online Screening Test at PGT Level
The streams are classified into humanities, science and commerce. The subjects are sub-grouped under these streams as follows. English Core is common to all streams. Similarly, some of the subjects come under 2 or 3 streams.
Stream | Subject |
Humanities |
|
Science |
|
Commerce |

Stage 2: Interview
The job openings at each school must be announced via a variety of channels, including the school website, notice boards, local newspapers, etc. Candidates would need to submit applications in response to these announcements/ads. The location of the school may or may not be used for the interviews. It may be held at one of the other Schools in a convenient location at the local management’s discretion. A “Central Selection Board” conducts interviews with applicants for the position of regular teacher (CSB). At the six Command Head Quarters, the “Chairman Board of Administration” is in charge of ordering these boards. A Local Selection Board (LSB), which is commissioned by the Local Military Authority, conducts interviews with applicants for the position of teacher under “Fixed Term” employment.
The interview will be for a cluster—a group of schools—and the chosen applicant for only the regular category may be appointed in any of the cluster’s schools. ANNEXURE 1 in the official notification shows a list of all Army Public Schools organised by cluster. If the number of candidates is large and administratively unmanageable, the authorities conducting the interview may conduct additional screening of candidates.
Stage 3: Evaluation of Teaching Skills and Computer Proficiency
Language teachers will be subjected to a written test consisting of an essay and a comprehension test worth 15 points each, as well as an evaluation of their teaching abilities. If the Selection Committee so desires, it may also conduct computer proficiency tests.
