The basic eligibility criteria that a candidate should possess for the Assam TET Recruitment 2020 is; the candidate must be an Indian Citizen and Permanent Resident of Assam. Assam TET 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit
Candidates age must need to be between 18 years to 40 years as on 1st January of 2020 (i.e. the candidate must be born on or before 01.01.2002 and after 01.01.1980).
Age Relaxation: Category wise age relaxation will be as below followed.
- 5 years in respect of candidates belonging to SC, ST(P) and ST(H).
- 3 years in respect of candidates belonging to OBC/ MOBC.
- 10 years in respect of candidates belonging to PwD.

Educational Qualifications
Assistant Teacher (LP)
The applicants must need to be passed in Assam TET for LPS, conducted by Elementary Education Department, Assam. Along with that, need to have at least one criteria from the following list:
- Senior Secondary or its equivalent with at least 50% marks and 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education.
- Senior Secondary or its equivalent with at least 45% marks and 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations 2002.
- Senior Secondary or its equivalent with at least 50% marks and 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
- Senior Secondary or its equivalent with at least 50% marks and 2 years Diploma in Education (Special Education).
Assistant Teacher (UP)
- Candidates must need to be a Graduate from the UGC recognized University,
- And 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education or B.Ed. or D.Ed. (Special Education) or B.Ed. (Special Education) and passed in Assam TET for UPS conducted by Elementary Education Department, Assam.
Science Teacher (UP)
- Candidate must need to be a B.Sc. from the UGC recognized University and 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education or B.Ed. or D.Ed. (Special Education) or B.Ed. (Special Education) and passed in Assam TET for UPS (Science and Mathematics) conducted by Elementary Education Department, Assam.
Assamese Language Teacher (UP)
- The applicant must need to be a Graduate from the UGC recognized University having Assamese as one of the subjects.
- And two years Diploma in Elementary Education or B.Ed. or D.Ed. (Special Education) or B. Ed. (Special Education) and passed in Assam TET for UPS conducted by Elementary Education Department, Assam.
Manipuri Language Teacher (UP)
- Candidate must need to be a Graduate from the UGC recognized University having Manipuri as one of the subjects and 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education or B.Ed. or D.Ed. (Special Education) or B.Ed. (Special Education) and passed in Assam TET for UPS conducted by Elementary Education Department, Assam.
Hindi Teacher (UP)
- Candidate must need to be a Graduate from the UGC recognized University having Hindi as one of the subjects and 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education or B.Ed. or D.Ed. (Special Education) or B.Ed. (Special Education) and passed in Assam TET for UPS conducted by Elementary Education Department, Assam.

The selection of the candidates shall be strictly in order of merit considering the reservation for EWS/OBC/MOBC/SC/ST(P)/ST(H)/PWD etc. and marks will be allocated as follows:
