APO’s Job profile includes the following duties:
- To investigate cases brought up by police, those involving complaints or charges directly filed with Assistant prosecutors and those perceived by Assistant prosecutors, and to decide whether to prosecute them in court (juvenile cases are given to family court). APO’s have the authority not to prosecute cases (suspension of prosecution etc.) due to the intensiveness of the crimes and various conditions even in cases that can be prosecuted (where there is sufficient information to obtain a conviction).
