- Candidates should possess Matriculation or equivalent with
- At least two years work experience in relevant trades OR
- 1 Year Certificate course from Industrial Training Institute or Vocational Institute with a minimum of One Year experience in the trade OR
- Diploma of 2 Years from any authorized Industrial Training Institute in a similar trade.

BSF Constable Tradesman Syllabus 2022
General Awareness / General Knowledge
- Geography and Socio-Economic development, History, Knowledge of current events of National and International importance and such matters of every day observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of a learned person who has not made a special study of any scientific subject. The Paper will also contain questions on Modern History (From 1857 onward) of India, Indian Economy, Indian culture, Indian Polity, Geography of India.
Knowledge of elementary Mathematics
- The question paper of Arithmetical and Numerical abilities will cover Number Systems including questions on Profit & Loss, Simplification, Decimals, Fractions, L.C.M., H.C.F., Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Average, Discount, Time & Distance, Simple & Compound Interest, Mensuration, Time & Work, Tables & Graphs, etc.
Analytical Aptitude and ability to Observe the Differentiate Pattern
- The test will include questions of both verbal and non-verbal types. Questions will be set on analogies, relationship, similarities and differences, problem-solving, arithmetical computation and other analytical functions, Venn diagrams, relationship concepts, and Ability to observe and distinguish patterns
General Hindi / English
- Student’s ability to understand correct language, his basic comprehension, and writing ability, etc. will be tested. Questions will be based on error recognition, fill in the blanks using articles, verbs, prepositions, etc , Vocabulary, Sentence Completion, Spellings, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms,, Phrases and Idiomatic use of Words, etc.
