CTET Main Topics to Cover 2022

The Central Teacher Eligibility Test Paper 1 is conducted to recruit teachers for Class I – V under CBSE Board. Here we provide the main topics for CTET Paper 1 2022:

CTET Syllabus- Paper 1: The Child Development and Pedagogy

There will be a total of 30 questions asked from the Child Development and Pedagogy in the CTET 2022 exam. Here are the important topics of Child Development and Pedagogy:

a) The Child Development (Primary School Child) – Consists of 15 Questions

• The Principles of the development of children, Influence of Heredity & Environment and the Concepts of child-centred and progressive education
• Gender as a social construct: The Gender roles, gender-bias and educational practices
• The Individual differences among learners, understanding differences based on the diversity of language, gender, caste, community, religion etc.
• Formulating appropriate questions for assessing the readiness levels of the learners, for enhancing learning and critical thinking in a classroom and for assessing a learner’s achievement.
• The distinction between The Assessment for learning and assessment of school-Based learning: Assessment, Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation: perspective and practice
• The Concept of the development and its relationship with learning and The Socialization processes- Social world and the children (Teacher, Parents, Peers)
• Piaget, Vygotsky, Kohlberg and: constructs and critical perspectives
• Critical perspective of the construct of Intelligence
• Multi-Dimensional Intelligence, The Language & Thought

b) The Concept of the Inclusive Education and Understanding Children with Special Requirements- carries 5 Questions

• Addressing the needs of the children with learning difficulties, impairment, etc. and Addressing the Talented, Creative, Specially abled Learners
• Addressing the learners from diverse backgrounds including disadvantaged and deprived learners.

c) The Learning and Pedagogy – Carries 10 Questions

• Child as a problem solver and as a scientific investigator
• The basic processes of teachings and learnings: children’s strategies of learning, social context of learning and learning as a social activity.
• How the children think and learn: How and why children fail to achieve success in their school performance.

CTET Paper 1 Syllabus: Language I

In CTET Paper 1 exam, there will be around 30 questions from Language I. Here are the important topics and detailed syllabus on CTET Language I:

a) The Language Comprehension – Consists of 15 Questions

• Reading the unseen passages – One prose or drama, one poem with questions on comprehension, Two passages, inference, grammar and verbal ability (Prose passage may be scientific, narrative, literary, or discursive

b) The Pedagogy of Language Development – 15 Questions

• The Principles of language teaching, learning and acquisition, Challenges of teaching language in a diverse classroom, language difficulties, errors and disorders
• The Role of listening and speaking; function of language and how children use it as a tool and A critical perspective on the role of grammar in learning a language for communicating ideas verbally and in written form
• The language skills & Evaluating language comprehension and proficiency: speaking, listening, reading and writing and The Teaching-learning materials: Textbook, multilingual resource of the classroom, multi-media materials, & the Remedial Teaching

CTET Paper 1 Syllabus: Language II

In CTET Paper 1 exam, there will be around 30 questions from Language II. Here are the important topics and detailed syllabus on CTET Language II:

a) Comprehension – Consists of 15 Questions

• There will be two unseen prose passages (It can be discursive, literary, narrative or scientific) with the questions on grammar, comprehension, and verbal ability

b) The Pedagogy of Language Development – 15 Questions

• The Principles of language teaching and Learning and acquisition
• The Role of listening and speaking: function of language and how the children used it as a tool
• The Challenges of teaching language in a diverse classroom: The language difficulties, errors and disorders and Language Skills
• A critical perspective on the role of grammar in learning a language for communicating ideas verbally and in the written form.
• Evaluating the language comprehension and proficiency: i.e speaking, listening, reading and writing

CTET Paper 1 Syllabus 2022: Mathematics

In CTET Paper 1 exam, there will be around 30 questions from Mathematics. Here are the important topics and detailed syllabus on the CTET Mathematics section:

a) Content – Carries 15 Questions

• Numbers, Addition and subtraction, Multiplication and Division
• Geometry, Shapes & Spatial Understanding

CTET Paper 2 is conducted by CBSC for Elementary Stage (Classes VI to VIII). There are 5 sections. The syllabus of CTET Paper 2 has been elaborated in the following section:

There will be approx 30 Questions asked in CTET Paper 2 from Child Development and Pedagogy. Here are the topics:
