GATE 2022 Question Paper Pattern & Duration
The GATE 2022 exam will be conducted for a duration of three hours (four hours for candidates with compensatory time). Each paper will consist of 65 questions carrying a total of 100 marks. Once the allotted time ends, the test will automatically close.
Candidates must take their seats at least 40 minutes before the start of the exam, and they can log in 20 minutes prior to begin reading instructions. Entry will not be allowed after 30 minutes of commencement, and leaving the exam hall before time is strictly prohibited.
Types of Questions in GATE 2022
The GATE 2022 question papers will include three types of questions:
- Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs): Carry 1 or 2 marks each with negative marking for wrong answers.
- Multiple Select Questions (MSQs): May have one or more correct answers, but no negative marking.
- Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions: Require candidates to enter a numerical value using a virtual keypad, with no negative marking.
