A deputationist will be eligible for the following additional benefits during his or her tenure at IB/BoI:
- Special Security Allowance @ 20% of Base Pay
- Uniform allowance of Rs. 10,000/- per year if posted in BoI (not IB) and one-time Clothing allowance if posted in high-altitude stations.
- 1-Hometown and 1-All-India LTC package (with dependent family members) in a four-year block, plus 10 days leave encashment (Basic pay + DA).
- Children Education Allowance @Rs. 27,000/- per annum per child, Hostel Subsidy @Rs. 81,000/- per annum if the ward resides in a hostel
- Additional allowances, such as risk allowance, island allowance, special duty allowance, and so on, are admissible if posted to Bureau hardship locations in addition to regular allowances.
- Meritorious wards of personnel are eligible for scholarships.

- The applications of willing and eligible officers who have completed the three-year cooling-off period since their last deputation (if applicable) and have not had more than one deputation before this may be forwarded with the necessary documents.

- It is made clear that only applications that are complete in all aspects and have been properly forwarded will be considered. Applications received not through the proper channel or as an advance copy (direct applications or applications from the non-government sector), or after the closing date, or without all or any of the enclosures, or otherwise found incomplete, will not be considered, and no correspondence will be made or entertained in this regard and will be rejected.

- Bio-data (as per Annexure-B on the MHA website) duly filled and signed by the candidate, along with attested copies of appropriate academic certificates and forwarded through appropriate channels, duly signed certificate of cadre controlling authority (last page of Annex-B)
- Attested copies of updated ACRs for the previous five years
- Vigilance Clearance and Integrity Certificate, duly signed by cadre controlling authority, including a list of major/minor penalties imposed on officers in the previous ten years.

An official selected for these positions will be on deputation for the period specified in the induction order, which may be reduced or extended if service exigencies require. Nominations for deputation are invited in certain posts that have provisions for absorption or permanent transfer of service; the same will be considered based on the merits and utility of a deputationist’s performance. Absorption is not a right that can be asserted. The duration of selected personnel’s deputation will be governed by DOP&T and MHA guidelines. The deputation will be for a minimum of 3 or 5 years (depending on the RRs of the post applied for), with a maximum tenure of 7 years.
