NABARD came into existence on 12 July 1982 by transferring the agricultural credit functions of RBI and refinance functions of the then Agricultural Refinance and Development Corporation (ARDC). It was dedicated to the service of the nation by the late Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi on 05 November 1982. Set up with an initial capital of Rs.100 crore, its’ paid-up capital stood at Rs.10,580 crore as on 31 March 2018. Consequent to the revision in the composition of share capital between Government of India and RBI, NABARD today is fully owned by the Government of India. NABARD Recruitment Posts: Functions of NABARD
1.NABARD is one of the most important institution in the country which looks after the development of the cottage industry, small scale industry, village industry, and other rural industries.
2.NABARD helps to reach out to allied economies and supports and promotes integrated development across the country.
3. The duties followed by NABARD are given below:
- NABARD serves as an apex financing agency for the institutions providing investment and production credit for promoting the various developmental activities in rural areas.
- NABARD also takes measures towards institution building for improving the absorptive capacity of the credit delivery system, including monitoring, formulation of rehabilitation schemes, restructuring of credit institutions, training of personnel, etc.
- The officials of NABARD also co-ordinates the rural financing activities of all institutions engaged in developmental work at the field level and maintains liaison with Government of India, state governments, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and other national level institutions concerned with policy formulation
- NABARD undertakes monitoring and evaluation of projects refinanced by it.
- NABARD refinances the financial institutions which finance the rural sector.
- NABARD partakes in the development of institutions that help the rural economy.
- NABARD also keeps a check on its client institutes.
- It regulates the institutions which provide financial help to the rural economy.
- It provides training facilities to the institutions working in the field of rural upliftment.
- It regulates and supervises the cooperative banks and the RRB’s, throughout entire India.
NABARD Recruitment Posts: Eligibility Criteria
1: What does the acronym "ATM" stand for in banking?
The Eligibility Criteria according to the posts are given below;
NABARD Development Assistant
- The eligibility criteria for any candidate appearing for the post of development assistant is that a person has to be a graduate with a passing percentage of 60%.
- Eligibility criteria for a candidate appearing for Development Assistant(Hindi) needs to have Hindi as a subject and a minimum qualifying marks of 50% in graduation.
NABARD Grade A
- A candidate appearing for NABARD Grade-A posts needs to have a graduation degree from any recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks(for SC/ST/PWD applicants it is 45%) or a Post Graduate Degree with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks( for SC/ST/PWD applicants it is 45% in aggregate.
NABARD Grade B(RDBS-General)
- A candidate appearing for NABARD Grade-A posts needs to have a graduation degree from any recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks(for SC/ST/PWD applicants it is 55%) or a Post Graduate Degree with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks( for SC/ST/PWD applicants it is 50% in aggregate.
NABARD Grade B(RDBS-Agriculture)
- A candidate appearing for NABARD Grade-A posts needs to have a graduation degree from any recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks(for SC/ST/PWD applicants it is 55%) or a Post Graduate Degree with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks( for SC/ST/PWD applicants it is 50% in aggregate.

NABARD Recruitment Posts: List Of Posts under NABARD
The list of Posts under NABARD and their promotions in ascending order are as follows;

NABARD Salary Details
The Salary details of the NABARD posts are as follows:
NABARD Development Assistant
The Salary details for NABARD Development Assistant are given below as per the notification;
- The Pay-Scale of a Nabard Development Assistant is Rs 13150 – 750 – 15400 – 900 – 19000 – 1200 – 26200 – 1300 – 28800 – 1480 – 33240 – 1750 – 34990.
- The Initial Salary given to a NABARD Development Assistant is Rs 32,000/-pm in hand.
NABARD Grade A
- The Basic Pay of a NABARD Assistant Manager is Rs28150/- per month and the In-Hand salary for that month is Rs 60,000/-.
- The PayScale for NABARD Grade A are as follows;
- When a candidate joins as an Assistant Manager the initial basic pay is Rs28150/-pm and allowance is Rs 1550/-pm.
- After serving for 9 years and attaining the position of a Manager the initial basic pay is Rs34350/-pm and allowance is Rs 1750/-pm.
- Similarly, the Payscale given in the notification is 28150-1550(4)-34350-1750(7)–46600–EB-1750(4)-53600-2000(1)-55600.
NABARD Grade B(RDBS-General)
- The Basic Pay of a NABARD Manager is Rs35150/- per month and the In-Hand salary for that month is Rs 73,600/-pm.
- The PayScale for NABARD Grade B are as follows;
- When a candidate joins as an Assistant General Manager the initial basic pay is Rs35150/-pm and allowance is Rs 1750/-pm.
- After serving for 9 years and attaining the position of a Manager the initial basic pay is Rs50900/-pm and allowance is Rs 1750/-pm.
- Similarly, the Payscale given in the notification is Rs.35150 – 1750 (9) – 50900 – EB – 1750(2) – 54400 – 2000 (4) – 62400 (16 years).
