Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited (NLC)

NLC is a NAVARATNA company under the Ministry of Coal established in 1956. The main activity of NLC India is Mining (Coal & Lignite) and Power Generation (Thermal and Renewable Energy).  NLC India at present has four open cast lignite mines namely Mine I, Mine II, Mine IA and Barsingsar Mine. The lignite mined out is used as fuel to the linked Pit head power stations. Also raw lignite is being sold to small scale industries to use it as fuel in their production activities. NLC India has five pithead Thermal Power Stations with an aggregate capacity of 3240 MW. Further, NLC India has installed 34 Wind Turbine Generators of capacity 1.50 MW each and also commissioned 440 MW Solar Photo Voltaic Power plant in Neyveli, resulting in an overall power generating capacity of 3731 MW(excl. JVs).

NLC is a Government of India Enterprise, they select the applicants through a Computer Based Online Examination. The test will be in Objective type (MCQs), and divided into two parts: Part I questions are based on General topics and Part II is purely related to Discipline Professional Knowledge. The NLC Question Paper for Graduate Executive Trainee shall comprise of questions from the areas like Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, General Awareness, Data Interpretation, General English and Professional Knowledge.

NLC Graduate Executive Trainee 2020: Question Pattern

• One mark will be credited for every correct answer.
• 0.25 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
• Total duration of the examination is 2 hours.
• Multiple choice objective type questions.
• The question paper will be in English Language only.

Candidates who have applied for the post will be summoned to appear for Computer Based Online test. The applicants are required to meet their own Travel or Accommodation expenses during the test day. The candidates are supposed to have Full Time / Part Time Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering / Mechanical & Production Engineering, Electrical Engineering/ Electrical & Electronics Engineering/ Power Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering / Civil & Structural Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering / Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering / Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Mining Engineering, M.Tech Geology (or) M.Sc Geology, Computer Science Engineering / Computer Engineering / Information Technology (or) Full Time / Part Time PG Degree in Computer Applications.
The candidates should posses Minimum qualifying marks in notified qualification is 60 % for UR/EWS /OBC (NCL) & 50% for SC/ST.
