Do you know what is happening around us? Well, this is one of the frequent questions heard by the youth today especially in this Covid lockdown period. For a competitive exam aspirant, this question can’t be ignored so easily. Because current affairs play a major role in getting through any of the competitive exams. The recruiters insist their aspirants to have a clear knowledge about the society and what’s happening around them. No recruiters want a numb newly hatched aspirant from an incubator. So, in this article we discuss how to prepare for current affairs subjects for competitive exams.

Categorization

Current affairs often include all the sort of things that are happening around us in recent times. Everybody knows that it is vast like an ocean. Nobody can swallow it all of a sudden and get to know about it in all of a sudden. In order to be acquainted with current affairs for exam preparation it’s good to have a categorization for current affairs as follows:

Category for current affairs

The current affairs can be broadly classified into Static part and Dynamic part.

Static Part

Static part means the current affairs that often do not change. They often deliver us with some information that lasts for a very long time. For an example, who is the first man on the moon will always have a static answer to it, that is Neil Armstrong. This static information wont change for a lifetime until it is proved wrong. In order to grasp the static part a person needs to require a sharp memory and consistent revision. Static parts are always a piece of information that has to be remembered.

Dynamic updates

When we study the static part, we need to have a room for the dynamic part within the static part also. That will empower our current affairs study into the next level. Every static information is not isolated. For every static part there will be some change of events associated with it. That has to be noted. For example, the first person on the moon is Neil Armstrong and that information is not going to change but exploration in the area of astrophysics and moon will be continuously changing. This can be considered as the dynamic part associated with the static part.  This also needs to be conquered for an efficient current affairs study.

Dynamic Part

This is one of the most important broad classifications of current affairs. Dynamic part means the part of the current affairs which changes continuously and often with no notice of time. For example, in response to the Covid disease 2020 the union finance ministry has announced a special financial package to tackle the economic crisis and economic need of the people. This is a dynamic information that will change any time and that can incorporate any updates within or that can be repealed any time. These types of information can be considered as the dynamic part of the current affairs that need to have special focus in examination point of view.

Static background of Dynamic part

In order to grasp the dynamic part efficiently everyone needs to have a basic knowledge about the static part associated with it. For example, in order to understand the above specified dynamic current affair- the economic special package by the union finance ministry, everyone needs to have a knowledge regarding the economic packages, the economic powers of the ministry, according to which constitutional provision that ministry has declared such a package, the duties and responsibilities of the finance ministry ….etc.

The dynamic part should be supplied with a strong foundation of the static part associated with it.

Analysis of the Dynamic part.

This is one of the very important aspects of the Dynamic part of the current affairs preparation that differentiate you with a computer which can store indefinite information for a long time. The dynamic part should be analysed in order to have a specified opinion on each event that is happening around you. For that you need to consider the consequences of the dynamic information that is how it affects the society, how it affects the people, who all will get benefited to it, who all will get suffered by it, whether it is good or disastrous for the society …..etc. This type of preparation will not only make you an expert in current affairs subjects but it will also make you a very good rational person.

In short, the dynamic part preparation is like looking forward and backward at the same time.

Where is this information?

This is the second stage of hurdle in the preparation of the current affairs. The information is spread everywhere and you have to search for different resources. The most renowned resources are newspapers like The Hindu, The Times of India, Deccan Chronicle and government official press websites like Press Information bureau (PIB) and the magazines like Yojana, Kurukshetra etc. It’s very hard to go everywhere and collect information and compile it for your needs. Here comes the significance of Entri app. The app will help you with the current affairs static part and dynamic part at the same time. The dynamic part is prepared from the information that is fetched from different renowned resources.

Is just reading enough?

Current affairs are something that cannot be conquered by just studying. Because the current affairs are spread across everywhere and nobody can remember it every time when it is required. So consistent revision is required. Revision is not always practical, since it is very difficult to go back and read everything again investing a large amount of time. So, the effective way of consistent revision is practicing mock tests. Mock test refreshes your memory and enables you to acquaint with the way of asking questions and the way of answering questions. Entri will provide you with many mock tests that enable you to become the masters of current affairs.
