Books for TNPSC Exam Preparation 2019
Read Samacheer Kalvi Books from Class VI onwards. That is the only book which covers all the topics of the General Studies section. Do not limit your reading with Social Science textbooks, Science books are also essential. Most of the questions are directly taken out from the Samacheer Kalvi Books. If you are preparing for Grade-I and Grade-II services one can refer Laxmikant for Polity. State Board Textbooks would be enough for all other services.
For the Quantitative Aptitude section, R.S Agarwal along with mock tests would be enough. For the general knowledge, Arihant Publications General Knowledge book would be ideal. Arihant’s book is in simple language and a must-have book for the aspirants. Four months of current affairs preparation is necessary for any of these examinations.
Along with Arihant’s General Knowledge book, one must read the newspapers. The Hindu, Hindu Tamil or Dinamani newspapers would be great for your preparations. For the General English section, TNPSC General English by Sakthi Publication along with textbooks is enough. English questions would be of Matriculation standard for all these services.
Try to solve more previous question papers and attempt mock tests to evaluate your preparation. Don’t try to attempt the mock tests at the last week, solve the tests along with your preparation. No need to solve the question papers beyond 2013 since it has a different syllabus.
