TNPSC is about to release the recruitment notification to the post of Village Administrative Officer (VAO) 2020 under the category of Group IV services. The applications will be invited through online mode for a month after the notification release. TNPSC VAO Syllabus and Exam Pattern 2020

TNPSC VAO 2020 will be a written examination for direct recruitment to the post of Village Administrative Officer included in the Tamil Nadu Ministerial Service. We can expect the notification of VAO in the upcoming months. The basic eligibility of the candidates is, must possess S.S.L.C Public Examination or its equivalent. TNPSC VAO Syllabus 2020

The syllabus of the Village Administrative Officer 2020 comprises of fundamental topics like: General Science, Current Affairs, Geography, Indian Polity, Aptitude, History, Indian Economy, and Basics of Village Administration. The detailed syllabus is given below.

UNIT-I GENERAL SCIENCE

Physics: Nature of Universe – General Scientific laws – Inventions and discoveries – National scientific laboratories – Mechanics and properties of matter – Physical quantities, standards and units – Force, motion and energy. Magnetism, electricity and electronics – Heat, light and sound

Basics of Village Administration

Following are the Topics for Objective Type Questions in the Village Administrative Officer 2020 examination.

1. The role, functions duties and responsibilities of a Village Administrative Officer in Village and Revenue Administration. (Questions can be on topics including VAO’s role in assisting the police, reporting birth and death, implementing various schemes of the Government, recommending / furnishing inputs for income, Community, Destitute Widow, Marital Status, Patta and other adhoc and miscellaneous certificates.)
2. Records of revenue administration dealt with or handled by the VAO including ‘A’ Register, Patta, Chitta Adangal etc.
3. Accounts maintained and furnished by the VAO at the end of every FASLI YEAR.
4. Basic Principles / Information relating to classification of lands, information on rates of assessment and annual revenue collection
5. Basic information on forms of irrigation of land including those belonging to the Government
6. TNSPC VAO Syllabus in English and Tamil

TNPSC VAO 2020 Exam Pattern

The examination pattern of VAO 2020 will be in an Objective format or OMR method, which will be decided by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission.

• The maximum marks of the exam will be 300 and the total number of questions will be 200.
• The questions will be in SSLC Standard.
• The duration of the VAO exam will be 3 hours.
• The candidate will have the option to choose one of the papers of the test either in English or in Tamil.
• All question papers will have questions given both in English and Tamil except the General English and General Tamil Papers.
• Each question carries 1.5 marks.
