WBPSC WBCS 2022 Prelims Exam Dates Out

West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) on 29th April, 2022 has announced the WBCS Prelim Exam date for the year 2022. This exam will be based on the recruitment notice ( Advertisement No. 02/2022)released by the Commission in February. As per the official announcement, West Bengal Civil Services, WBCS Preliminary exam will be held on June 19, 2022. The date has been announced through an official notification on the website of the Commission – wbpsc.gov.in.

WBPSC WBCS Exam Details

WBPSC is the authority responsible for conducting the WBCS Exam. This exam is conducted in three stages namely Preliminary, Mains and Interview.

• The WBCS Prelims consists of one paper only i.e. General Studies.
• The WBCS Mains Exam has six compulsory papers and one optional subject consisting of two papers. Optional subjects are meant to be taken by candidates opting for Group A and Group B services. Out of six compulsory papers, four papers are of Multiple Choice Questions type namely – General Studies I, General Studies II, The Constitution of India and Indian Economy including role and functions of Reserve Bank of India and Arithmetic and Test of Reasoning. The medium of Mains Exam will be only Bengali/ English.

Candidates attempting WBCS should make sure that they do not disclose their identity by writing his/ her roll number/ name. This will lead to the deduction of 10% of the total marks secured by the candidate.

WBPSC WBCS Preliminary Exam Pattern

WBPSC Prelims 2022 exam will be conducted in offline mode. It will be an objective type exam for 200 marks. The questions will be based on general studies which includes eight topics. The duration of the exam will be two hours. The table below shows the topics covered in the Preliminary exam, the mark distribution and number of questions for each topic.

Candidates who qualify in the Pre exam will be shortlisted for the Mains exam, which is the second round of recruitment process.
