What is Cancer?
Cells are the basic units of the human body. Cells grow and divide to make new cells as the body needs them. When the cells die when they get old or damaged, new cells take their place and this process should continue like this for sustaining a healthy life. When genetic changes interfere with this periodic process, Cancer begins. Cells start to grow uncontrollably and these cells may form a mass called a tumour. A cancerous tumour is malignant, i.e, it can grow and spread to other parts of the body. A benign tumour means the tumour can grow but will not spread.
