World Rotract Day is celebrated on 13 March every year to appreciate the services provided by the rotractors across the globe. Roctract means rotary in action. Rotary International youth program began in 1968 at North Carolina, USA.

World Rotaract Week 2022
Every year, World Rotaract Week honours the beginning of the first club in 1968. World Rotaract Week is a time for Rotarians and Rotaractors around the world to come together to celebrate the attainment and importance of the this program. This program is also an excellent opportunity to inform the members of your community about Rotaract club’s amazing work and give them an opportunity to get involved. It will be celebrated from 11 March 2022 to 18 March 2022 this year.
How Rotaract Week is Celebrated?
1: Who was the first woman President of India?
All the Rotaract clubs and their sponsor Rotary clubs are free to explore a variety of methods of participating in World Rotaract Week. Rotaractors can determine the best way for their club to celebrate the Rotaract program – completing 1, 2 days or an entire week’s worth of activities. After the club has completed its World Rotaract Week ceremonial events, district Rotaract Chair or the sponsor Rotary club can download a certificate of recognition for presentation.

Some suggested activities to celebrate this week are:
- Observe a joint project with a Rotary club.
- Plan a literacy day to be held every year.
- Invite Rotaractors to Rotary club for meetings.
- Give a presentation about Rotaract to a Rotary club that does not sponsor that Rotaract club.
- Rotaract in local media.
- Encourage cross-promotion between other community youth organizations.
- Join in partnership with international Rotaract clubs.
- Develop monitoring programs between Rotaractors and Rotarians as well as, with interactors.
- Introduce potential members to Interact with the club by inviting them to a meeting or a project.

Some of the achievements/events of different rotary club last year are:
24 Aug – 2 Sept: Rotaractors organised the 2nd annual Pacific Canada Experience (PACE) with Rotaract Roundtrip
14 – 16 Sept: 4 Rotaractors from the District attended RYLA North in Prince George and ended up the joining of 2 new members!
17 Nov: They held their first-ever District Rotaract Training Seminar.
24 Nov: 15 members volunteered at the District 5040 Rotary Foundation Dinner
1 Dec: Rotaractors members took the lead in organizing the first-ever District-wide Interact Assembly.
28 Feb: Few of the Rotaract Clubs participated in Polio Plus and donated just over dollar 1,000.

The Rotaractors are presently working on the following exciting initiatives:
Second annual New Generation in Action Conference (April 27)
All the New Generations groups within Rotary will display their successes and this will provide Rotarians with opportunity to engage with the youth.
Second annual PACE trip
- District-Wide Installation Dinner:
- This is a brand new concept that the Rotaractors have come up with – to hold a District-wide Installation Dinner which will involve all the Rotaract Executives at the same time.
District Donation Website:
- The Rotaractors are planning to build a e-commerce based website which will allow visitors to donate to projects that they are working on.
- This website also be used as a historic log of projects and can serve as promotional material.
World Rotaract Day 2022: Theme
The Rotary International Theme for this year is “Rotary Making a Difference”. Every Jan, as Rotary district governors-elect convene at the International Assembly for training and fellowship, they can be sure of two things: a lot of take-home reading and the announcement of a new Rotary theme.

The purpose of Rotaract is to offer an opportunity for young men and women to improve the knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development, to address the social needs of their communities, and to promote better relations between people worldwide through a model of friendship .
