What is World Youth Skills Day ?
It is a well known fact that, even though the youth make up the major part of the population existing on our planet, sometimes, we lack in imparting the requisite skills to them. At first, this problem may not sound serious to you, but in the long run, this has an adverse impact on the survival of mankind itself. Therefore, the General Assembly of the United Nations, in 2014, decided to observe World Youth Skills Day (WYSD) every year on the 15th of July. As per the appeal of the United Nations organization, the World Youth Skills Day, aims to create a line of action between the youth and Technical & Vocational Education Training (TVET) Institutes along with employers and policy makers within the government.
It is evident that a society without youth is like a society without a future. Youth and Future are so much inter linked in whatever scenario we take into consideration. However, we must try to convince ourselves that we cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future. By this we mean to prepare the youth with ample skills necessary to augment a brighter future for themselves. This can be done by giving the youth the obligatory skills needed for good employment, reasonable work and to be a high-flyer!
