Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) had released the Motor Vehicle Inspector Recruitment Notification on the 30th of April 2020. Generally, the recruitment drive is a two-step process with a written exam conducted in the offline mode followed by an interview test that is conducted to fill in the 90 vacancies. The selected candidate who qualifies as the BPSC Motor Vehicle Inspector will be appointed under the Department of Transport, Government of Bihar. BPSC Motor Vehicle Inspector Cut off
The candidates have to ensure that they are aware of the min qualifying marks as put forth by the Bihar PSC authority. The written exam consists of basically, three sections – Paper-I, Paper-II & Paper-III for a total of 300 marks. For each of these papers, the aspirants need to prepare for subjects such as General Studies, Automobile/Mechanical Engineering and Motor Vehicles Act(s) respectively. A score of exactly 1 mark for every right answer will be awarded and there is no negative marking in this particular exam. The level of hardness set by the commission for this exam is of the 10th Standard. In order to qualify for the interview round, the candidates need to secure the minimum qualifying marks in the written examination. The minimum qualifying marks will be as follows for each category
- Unreserved – 40%
- OBC- 36.5%
- EBC – 34%
- SC/ST/Females/PwD- 32%
A merit list, however, will be prepared solely for those candidates who will secure the above-mentioned percentage of marks in the written examination. At last, eligible candidates will appear for the final round i.e. the interview test which is organized by the Bihar PSC. The Interview exam is usually conducted for a total of 150 marks which will be then divided into 3 parts – Experience, Area of Specialization & Personal Interview. Moreover, the selection will be made on the basis of the combined marks obtained by the candidates in the written exam and interview. As there are only 90 vacancies to be filled, getting yourself in that position is a rat race. Therefore scoring good marks in the interview round becomes utmost necessary.

Similar to the BPSC Motor Vehicle Inspector written examination, there won’t be any cut off for this stage as well. After the interview round is completed, the Bihar PSC will release the merit list on its website. The total marks that will be awarded in the Bihar PSC MVI Interview round is 150 marks. This weightage of 150 marks is further divided into 3 different parts. Candidates will be given marks as per their performance in the following parts of the interview –
- Experience – A score of 3 marks per year in diploma, i.e a maximum of 9 marks.
- Speciality in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering
- Personal Interview – A score of 25 marks

Stages of BPSC Motor Vehicle Inspector Cut off
The selection for the Motor Vehicle Inspector post is done through the written exam and the interview test. There are, however, a few criteria you need to fulfil in both these stages to get recruited. Therefore, here are the stages of BPSC MVI.
Written Exam: This exam is usually conducted for a total of 300 marks whereby you need to score a minimum of 40% marks (for the remaining categories, check the table above) to qualify.
Interview: This stage will be conducted in 3 various parts for a total mark of 150. After the completion of this stage, the BPSC will publish the final merit list on its official website. As per the order of your name in this list, you will be called in for document verification.

BPSC does not usually release any cut off for either of the stages of this exam. Moreover, the commission simply recruits candidates on the basis of their performance in the Interview & Written exam.
