The day was selected as 18th June because it was the day of the birth of their youngest member of the group at that time. The organization also celebrated the day modelled on the Gay Pride movement. The basic idea behind this day was to make autistic people celebrate their own self rather than making other charities or organizations promote them and leading their own agenda. This symbol was used as an infinitely to represent the infinite possibilities of autistic members from around the globe without any prejudice or differences. A magazine also released an article related to the situation back in the day on the first Autistic Pride Day celebration to discuss the idea of infinite possibilities and variations in the autistic community members. To sum up, the celebrations and the event the co-founder of Autism Rights Group Highland quoted this “the most important thing to note about the day is that it is an autistic community event: it originated from and is still led by autistic people ourselves”
