Every year organizations from across the globe observe Autistic Pride Day, dated on the 18th of June, to raise awareness among those who are not autistic so that they can communicate with autistic people and do not regard them as individuals who require care but as unique. Rather than being organized by charities, the annual event of Autistic pride day is managed by people with autistic disorder themselves. Since its inception, Autistic Pride Day has been a communal event rather than a day for other organizations to publicize themselves by stifling autistic individuals. Are you aware of why Autistic Pride Day is observed?
Why is Autistic Pride Day Celebrated?
Autistic Pride Day is celebrated among autistic individuals so that they can celebrate the diversity of autistic people and the possibilities of different individuals present within the autistic community. The first-ever Autistic Pride day was celebrated by Aspies for Freedom in 2005 and modelled the celebration on the gay pride movement. The main motive of this annual celebration is to identify the different types of people that can be seen in autistic communities and the aspects of different individuals. This annual event is also not run by charities but by autistic people to celebrate themselves and their diversity. This day is now a global level celebration that is enjoyed online by all of the members of the community to celebrate themselves and their differences.
Autistic Pride Day is celebrated through a rainbow infinity symbol which represents the diversity of different members of the autistic community. Also, the rainbow infinite symbol makes it possible to include each and every individual in the autistic community without differences. There can be an infinite variation of members in this community and the Autistic Pride Day is celebrated to include each and every person in the community without any prejudice.

History Of Autistic Pride Day 2023
The Autistic Pride Day was first celebrated in the year 2005 on 18th June by the organization of AFF or better known as Aspies Of Freedom. The day was selected as 18th June because it was the day of the birth of their youngest member of the group at that time. The organization also celebrated the day modelled on the Gay Pride movement. The basic idea behind this day was to make autistic people celebrate their own self rather than making other charities or organizations promote them and leading their own agenda. This symbol was used as an infinitely to represent the infinite possibilities of autistic members from around the globe without any prejudice or differences. A magazine also released an article related to the situation back in the day on the first Autistic Pride Day celebration to discuss the idea of infinite possibilities and variations in the autistic community members. To sum up, the celebrations and the event the co-founder of Autism Rights Group Highland quoted this “the most important thing to note about the day is that it is an autistic community event: it originated from and is still led by autistic people ourselves”
Celebrations Of The Day
The main purpose of Autistic Pride Day is to make autistic people celebrate themselves rather than pushing the organizations and charities to celebrate them. Organizations around the world set up events so that more autistic people can connect with each other. The main motive of the members is to demonstrate to normal people that autistic people are not disabled but they are special. Also, all of the autistic community members want to communicate to the individuals that they must not be seen as the subject for treatment because they do not need one. On Autistic Pride Day, the main motive of the members is to celebrate their differences and open the possibilities of various variations of the community members. Autistic community members have been subjected to a lack of support from normal members of society. Autistic activists are always promoting equality and communicating to normal people that autistic communities need their support rather than their ignorance.
