Bihar Police Constable Eligibility

The Bihar government had released notification on the 4^th of October 2019 regarding vacancy for the post of Police Constable. The last date for submitting the application was 04/11/2019. The date of examination which was scheduled on 20/01/2020 has been postponed. The new date will be communicated soon. Bihar Police Constable Eligibility criteria

The eligibility criteria for the post of Bihar police constable are as follows:

Age Limit

The Aspirants should be between 18- 25 years. The upper age relaxation will be given to the candidates according to the government norms.

• Male Candidates: Between 18 yrs. – 23 yrs.
• Female Candidates : Between 18 Yrs. – 28 Yrs.
• OBC and EBC Males- 27 years(upper age limit)
• OBC and EBC Females- 28(upper age limit)
• SC and ST- 30(upper age limit)

The age of applicants will be calculated as on 01/08/2019. The date of birth given on the matriculation certificate will be considered for this purpose.

Educational Qualification

The minimum qualification required for the applicant to apply for this post is that he/ she should have successfully completed the intermediate( Plus two) exam. Also, those who have completed the +2 from Bihar State Madrasa Education Board or Bihar State Sanskrit Shiksha Board or other equivalents recognized by the State Government will also be considered.

The police constable post comes under pay scale level 3. And the salary for Bihar Police Constable varies between Rs. 21,700 and  69,100/-.

Bihar Police Constable Exam Pattern

The selection procedure consists of 3 stages

• Written test
• Physical Examination and/or Physical Efficiency Test
• Document verification and Medical Test

Written test

This will be the preliminary phase of the selection. All the applications which are found eligible will receive the admit card for the exam. The admit card can be downloaded from the CSBC official site.

The written exam consists of 100 questions for 100 marks. Each question carries one mark. The exam duration will be for two hours. The exam will be OMR based objective examination.

The candidates securing less than 30% will be disqualified and will not be called for the physical efficiency test.

Physical Examination and/or Physical Efficiency Test

The PET will be out of 100 marks.

Race– Maximum marks 50

• For all category males- 1.6 Kms in 6 minutes( maximum)
• For all category females- 1 Km in 5 minutes( maximum)

Shot Put– Maximum marks 25

• For all category males- 16-pound ball. Minimum distance to be covered- 16 feet
• For all category females- 12-pound ball. Minimum distance to be covered- 12 foot

High Jump– Maximum marks 25

• For all category males- Minimum height 4 feet
• For all category females- Minimum height 3 feet

The candidates not meeting these will be disqualified. The marks will be awarded according to the distance covered or according to the time.

The successful candidates will be called for medical test and document verification. And, the final merit list will be prepared.
