**CTET Questions With Answers**

**The numbers of boys and girls in a college are in the ratio of 3:2. If 20% of the boys and 25% of the girls are adults, the percentage of students, who are not adults, is:**

- 58%
- 60(1/5)%
- 78%
- 83(1/3)%

Ans: 3

**Explanation:**

Let the total number of boys and girls be 100

Ratio of Boys : Girls = 3 : 2 -> Sum of ratio terms = 3 + 2 = 5

Numbers of boys = (3/5) x 100 = 60

Number of girls = (2/5) x 100 = 40

Number of adults = (60 x 20)/100 + (40 x 25)/100 = 12 + 10 = 22

The number of students who are not adults = 100-22=78

Percentage of student, who are not adults = 78 %

**In an examination, 34% of the students failed in mathematics and 42% failed in English. If 20% of the students failed in both the subjects, then find the percentage of students who passed in both the subjects.**

- 40%
- 41%
- 43%
- 44%

**Answer:** 4

**Explanation:**

Number of students who failed in mathematics, n(1) = 34

Number of students who failed in English, n(2) = 42

n(AUB) = n(1) + n (2) – n (A∩ B )

= 34 + 42- 20 = 56

Number of students who failed in either one or both the subjects = 56

Pass percentage = (100−56)%=44%

**4 men can complete a piece of work in 2 days. 4 women can complete the same piece of work in 4 days whereas 5 children can complete the same piece of work in 4 days. If 2 men, 4 women and 10 children work together, in how many days can the work be completed?**

- 1 day
- 3 days
- 2 days
- 4 days

Ans: 1

**Explanation:**

4 men × 2 = 4 women × 4 = 5 children × 4

2 men + 4 women + 5 children = 4 women x 4 = 16 women x 1 = 1 day

**Imran borrowed a sum of money from Jayant at the rate of 8% per annum simple interest for the first four years, 10% per annum for the next six years and 12% per annum for the period beyond 10 years. If he pays a total of Rs. 12,160 as interest only at the end of 15 years, how much way did he borrow?**

- 8000
- 10,000
- 12,000
- 9,000

Ans: 1

**Explanation:**

Let the principal be Rs. P

(P x 8 x 4)/100 + (P x 10 x 6)/100 + (P x 12 x 5)/100 = 12160

152P = 12160 × 100

P = (12160 X 100) / ( 152) = Rs. 8000
