The selection process of ESSE 2025 is divided into Tier-I, Tier-II, and additional assessments depending on the post:
Step 1: Tier-I – Preliminary Examination
- Mode: Pen-paper, OMR-based (MCQs)
- Duration: 2 hours (time flexible for sections)

Principal:
- Tier-III: Personal Interaction / Interview (40 marks)
- Merit Calculation: Tier-II (80%) + Interview (20%)
Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA):
- Tier-III: Typing Skill Test (qualifying, 50 marks)
- Merit Calculation: Tier-II marks only
- Other non-teaching posts do not have Tier-III; final selection is based on Tier-II marks and document verification.
4. Minimum Qualifying Marks
Candidates scoring below this threshold are not considered for document verification or final merit list.
- General, OBC, EWS: 30% in Tier-II
- SC, ST, PwBD: 25% in Tier-II
5. Merit List Preparation
- Merit list is post-wise and category-wise.
- Principals: Tier-II + Interview
- JSA: Tier-II + Skill Test
- Others: Tier-II marks only
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification in a 1:3 ratio.
