Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) has released the Mains Exam schedule for the Himachal Pradesh Forest Services (HPFS) Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF), Class-I (Gazetted) (in the Department of Forests, Himachal Pradesh). Candidates qualified for the mains exam for Assistant Conservator of Forest note that the HPPSC ACF Mains Exam Schedule has been fixed w.e.f. 03 May 2021 to 07 May 2021 in Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission Hall.

According to the exam schedule, the Compulsory Papers General Knowledge and Hindi’s exam will be held on 03 May 2021and the English paper will be on 04 May 2021. However, the optional papers have been scheduled from 05 to 07 May 2021. Check the date and time and session for Mains Exam:

HPPSC ACF Mains Exam Admit Card
The commission will upload the e-Admit cards and instructions to provisionally admitted candidates on its official website. All the provisionally admitted candidates for the mains exam for Assistant Conservator of Forest posts will also be informed through SMS/ e-mails on their respective Cellular Nos. /e-mail ID(s) provided by them in their respective Online Recruitment Application forms in due course of time.
The candidates are also required to submit an undertaking regarding the number of chances already availed for the post during the Main Written Examination, if not submitted earlier.

HPPSC ACF Mains Exam Pattern
No candidate shall be considered to have qualified for the written examination unless he/ she obtains at least 40% marks in each compulsory paper and 45% marks in aggregate.
General Knowledge (100 marks)
General knowledge includes knowledge of current events and everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspects as is expected from an educated person who has not made a special study of any scientific subject. The paper will also include questions on Indian Polity including the political system and the Constitution of India, History of India, and Geography of nature which the candidate should be able to answer without special study.
General English (100 marks)
The question paper will be designed to test the candidate’s understanding of his power to write English correctly and idiomatically. It will also include questions to test the candidate’s knowledge of grammar, idiom, and usage. Passages will be set for summary or précis. Besides, there will be an essay on current topics on State/National/ International events. The essay will carry 30 marks. Summary or précis 20 marks and other shall be of 50 marks.

Hindi (100 marks)
- Essay on current topics on State/National/International events 30 marks
- Translation of an English passage into Hindi 10 marks
- Explanation of Hindi Prose and Poetry in the same language 20 marks
- Idioms, Corrections, comprehension and grammar, etc. 40 marks
Optional Paper (200 marks each subject)
- The total number of questions in the question papers of optional papers will be eight.
- All questions will carry equal marks.
- Each paper will be divided into two parts viz. Part-I and Part-II and each part shall contain four questions. Out of eight questions, five questions are to be attempted.
- One question from each part will be compulsory. The candidates will be required to answer three other questions out of the remaining six questions, taking at least one question from each Part.
- In this way, at least two questions will be attempted from each Part i.e., one compulsory question plus one more.
