Indian Air Force Group Y Syllabus and Exam Pattern 2021

IAF Group Y Trades (Except IAF(S) and Musician) selection process includes an online written test, Document Verification, Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Adaptation Test-1, Adaptation Test-2 and Medical Examination. Candidates appearing must be well acquainted with syllabus, weightage and exam pattern to clear the exam. This will help you draft a good study plan and effectively learn for the exam. Indian Air Force Group Y Exam Pattern 2021

• The Online test will be objective type and conducted online.
• Group Y exam total duration shall be 45 minutes.
• The exam shall comprise of English as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA).
• Medium of Questions will be bilingual (English & Hindi) except for English paper.
• One mark for every correct answer.
• 0.25 marks shall be deducted for each wrong answer.

Indian Air Force Group Y Syllabus 2021

IAF Group ‘Y’ exam comprises of English and Reasoning and General Awareness subject. IAF Group ‘Y’ Trades [Except IAF(S) and Musician] Syllabus is as shown below –

1. A short passage followed by four questions to test comprehension. The questions will be set:
2. To judge understanding of the passage.
3. To draw inference
4. To judge understanding of vocabulary
5. Grammar – 1
6. Subject – verb concord
7. Forms of verbs and errors in the use of verbs, etc.
8. Sequence of tenses and errors in the use of tenses
9. Transformation of sentences – Compound, Complex, Simple, Negative, Affirmative, Comparative degree, Positive degree, Superlative degree etc.

III. Grammar – 2

1. Formation of words – Nouns from verbs and adjectives, Adjectives from nouns and verbs, Adverbs from adjectives etc.
2. Determiners
3. The Preposition
4. Nouns and Pronouns
5. The Adjective
6. The Adverb
7. The Conjunction
8. The Modals
9. Clauses – Noun clauses, Adverb clauses of condition and time and Relative clauses

IV. Vocabulary

1. Synonyms and Synonyms in context

5. Simple Idioms/phrases
6. Words often confused/Selecting the correct word fitting in a sentence

V. Narration (Direct and Indirect)
