The Department of School Education of Karnataka will conduct Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) to recruit eligible candidates for the post of Primary(classes I-V) and Upper Primary(classes VI to VIII) teachers in government schools across the Karnataka state. A notification regarding Karnataka TET was released by the department on 31st August, 2022. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the official website @http://schooleducation.kar.nic.in/. The application can be submitted from 1st September, 2022 until 30th September 2022. Karnataka TET Exam 2022 is scheduled to be held on 6th November 2022. The Central Enrollment Unit under the department of Education, Bangalore is responsible for conducting Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KARTET).

Karnataka TET 2022 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should go through the eligibility criteria and ensure that they satisfy all the requirements before applying for the exam. Given below are the required criteria:
Nationality
- The candidate must be a citizen of India.
- The candidate must satisfy the local/ non-local status requirement as mentioned by the authority.
Age Limit
The lower age limit of the applicants should be 18 years, and the upper age limit will be around 35 to 40 years as of January 2022. 5% relaxation in the upper age limit will be given to the reserved category (SC/ST/PH) candidates.

Educational Qualification
For Primary Teachers (Class 1 to 5)
Applicants should have any one of the following qualification:
- Candidates should have secured 50% marks in PUC/ senior secondary school exam and should have done two years D. El. Ed
- Candidates should have secured 50% marks in PUC/ senior secondary school exam and should have passed four years elementary education (B. El. Ed)
- Candidates should have secured 50% marks in PUC/ senior secondary school exam and should two years Diploma in Education (Special Education).
For Upper Primary Teachers (Class 6 to 8)
Applicants should have any one of the following qualification:
- Candidates should have secured 50% marks in graduation level (45% for reserved categories) and should have done two years D. El. Ed
- Candidates should have secured 50% marks in graduation and should have completed B. Ed degree.
- Candidates should have secured 50% marks in PUC/ senior secondary school exam and should have passed four years elementary education (B. El. Ed).
- Candidates should have secured 50% marks in PUC/ senior secondary school exam and should have passed four years degree course.
- Candidates should have secured 50% marks in graduation and should have completed two years B. Ed (Special Education Degree).
Note: Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and candidates with special needs should have 45% marks in the qualifying exam.
TET Exam 2022 Karnataka – Apply Online
- Application can be submitted from 1st September until 30th September, 2022 by visiting the official website http://www.schooleducation.kar.nic.in/.
- Candidates should keep handy a scanned copy of their passport size photograph and signature.
- Candidates should have a valid mobile number and email id.
How to fill the Karnataka TET Application form?
- Candidates can fill the online application form directly by visiting the official website of the School Education Board of Karnataka.
- Click on the ‘Karnataka TET 2022’ link on the homepage of the official website.
- Proceed with the Apply Online link.
- Fill all the details carefully in the columns prescribed
- The details include Personal Details, Academic/ Education Details, and Declaration.
- After filling in the above details, upload the required documents (passport size photograph and signature in JPG/ JPEG format).
- Pay the Karnataka TET exam fee.
- Submit the application.
- Candidates can make corrections, if any, through online mode before paying the examination fee. Once the payment is done, no amendments will be permitted.
- Take the printout of the application form for future reference
Application Fee :
The fee payment can be done via modes like net banking, debit/ credit card. Depending on the qualification and eligibility criteria of Karnataka TET 2021, candidates can apply for Paper I/ Paper II/ both. The application fee is given below :
- General: Rs. 700 (Rs. 1,000 for both Paper I and Paper II)
- SC/ ST: Rs. 350 (Rs. 500 for both Paper I and Paper II)
- Candidates with special needs are exempted from paying the fee.
- Candidates will have to bear the transaction fee.
- Examination fee once paid will not be refunded.

Admit Card for Karnataka TET 2022
Karnataka TET 2022 Admit Card will be available after 21st October, 2022. The candidates can download Karnataka TET admit card from the School Education Board of Karnataka website. Candidates are advised to enter correct details in their application form as these details will be printed in the Admit Card and cannot be changed.

Exam Pattern
Karnataka TET exam is divided into Paper I and Paper-II. Candidates aspiring to become Primary Teachers (Classes 1 to 5) must appear for Paper I whereas candidates aspiring to become upper primary teachers (Classes 6 to 8) must appear for Paper II. Candidates with relevant educational qualification can apply for Paper I and II. The exam pattern of Karnataka TET is given below :
- The exam will be conducted Computer-based Objective Online mode with 150 questions.
- The duration of the exam will be 180 minutes.
- Each question carries 1 mark for every correct answer and, there will be no negative marking.
- Apart from the language paper, all other subjects will be available in Kannada, Urdu, English, Tamil, Telugu and Marathi

The syllabus for Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies will not be beyond school level. Therefore, the candidates must focus more on the school syllabus from Class 6 to 10.
Exam Result
Karnataka TET 2022 results will be available at least 30 – 45 days after the date of the exam. The results will be uploaded on the official website of the Karnataka School Education Board. Candidates can check the results with their admit card number/ hall ticket number.
Along with the result of the Karnataka TET exam, the score-card of the candidates will also be released. The details mentioned in the scorecard will be as follows:

Cut-Off Marks
Karnataka TET cutoff marks for General and reserved categories is given in the below table :

Selection Procedure
Candidates who score the cutoff marks will be declared qualified. School Education Board of Karnataka will issue a Karnataka TET eligibility certificate to the qualified candidates. These candidates are eligible for the state-level teacher recruitment exam.
Karnataka TET 2022 certificate will be valid for lifetime. There is no limit on the number of attempts for the Karnataka TET exam.
