Karnataka TET is the exam conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for the appointment of Primary(classes I-V) and Upper Primary(classes VI to VIII) teachers in government schools across the Karnataka state. The candidates must clear Karnataka TET to appear for the teacher recruitment exam conducted by the state government. The School Education Board of Karnataka is to release the Karnataka TET Notification 2021. The online application process for Karnataka TET 2021 in January. Candidates willing to appear for Karnataka TET must register on the official website of the School Education Board of Karnataka.

Karnataka TET: Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

  • The candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • The candidate must satisfy the local/non-local status requirement as mentioned by the authority.

Age Limit

The lower age limit of the applicants should be 18 years, and the upper age limit will be around 35 to 40 years as of January 2021. 5% relaxation in the upper age limit will be given to the reserved category(SC/ST/PH) candidates.

Karnataka TET 2020 Answer Key.

Educational Qualification

For Primary Teachers (Class 1 to 5)

  • The minimum qualification required for the Primary Teachers is Intermediate (Class 12) with 50% marks (45% for reserved categories).
  • Candidates must have passed Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.Ed) or Bachelor of Elementary Education with at least 45 – 50% of marks.
  • Candidates pursuing final-year D.EI.Ed/ Bachelor of Elementary Education is also eligible to apply for Karnataka TET 2021.

For Upper Primary Teachers (Class 6 to 8)

  • The minimum qualification required for Upper Primary Teachers is a Bachelor’s degree (B.A/ B.Sc/ B.Com/ B.Tech/ BBA etc.,) with at least 45% – 50% of qualifying marks.
  • The candidates must have passed Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.Ed)/ Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) to be eligible for the post of Upper Primary Teacher.
  • Candidates pursuing final-year D.EI.Ed/ B.Ed are also eligible to appear for Karnataka TET 2021.

Karnataka TET Notification 2021: Application Procedure

Karnataka TET 2021 online application process will be starting tentatively by January 2021. Candidates can submit the application form for the Karnataka TET exam through the official website of the School Education Board of Karnataka.

How to fill the Karnataka TET Application form?

  • Candidates can fill the online application form directly by visiting the official website of the School Education Board of Karnataka. The application form will be available tentatively by December 2020.
  • Click on the ‘Karnataka TET 2021’ link on the homepage of the official website.
  • Proceed with the Apply Online link.
  • Fill all the details carefully in the columns prescribed
  • The details include Personal Details, Academic/ Education Details, and Declaration.
  • After filling in the above details, upload the required documents (mostly passport size photograph and signature in JPG/JPEG format).
  • Pay the Karnataka TET exam fee.
  • Submit the application.
  • Candidates can make corrections, if any, through online mode.
  • Take the printout of the application form for future reference

Application Fee : 

Depending on the qualification and eligibility criteria of Karnataka TET 2021, candidates can apply for Paper I/ Paper II/ both. The application fee is given below :

  • General: Rs. 700 (Rs. 1,000 for both Paper I and Paper II)
  • SC/ ST: Rs. 350 (Rs. 500 for both Paper I and Paper II)
  • The fee payment can be done via modes like net banking, debit/credit card.

Documents Required to Karnataka TET Application Form 2021 :

The applicants must keep the following documents ready before filling the online application form for Karnataka TET 2021:

  • Scanned Copy of Recent Passport Size Photograph
  • Scanned Copy of Signature

Note: Candidates may have to enter the Hall Ticket/ Certificate Number/ Roll Number of Class 10 in the online application form.

Admit Card for Karnataka TET 2021

Karnataka TET 2021 admit card will be available for download at least 10 – 15 before the exam date. The candidates can download Karnataka TET admit card from the School Education Board of Karnataka website. After downloading the admit card, take its printout.

The candidates must read the instructions carefully given on the admit card.

Exam Pattern

Karnataka TET exam is divided into Paper I and Paper-II. Candidates aspiring to become Primary Teachers must appear for Paper I. However, candidates willing to become upper primary teachers must appear for Paper-II. Candidates with relevant educational qualification can apply for Paper I and II. The exam pattern of Karnataka TET is given below :

  • The exam will be conducted Computer-based Objective Online mode with 150 questions.
  • The duration of the exam will be 180 minutes.
  • Each question carries 1 mark for every correct answer and, there will be no negative marking.

  • Concept of development and its relationship with learning
  • Formulating appropriate questions for assessing readiness levels of learners; for enhancing learning and critical thinking in the classroom and for assessing learner achievement
  • Principles of the development of children
  • Evaluation: perspective and practice
  • Influence of Heredity & Environment
  • The distinction between Assessment for learning and assessment of learning; School-Based Assessment, Continuous & Comprehensive
  • Socialization processes: Social world & children (Teacher, Parents, Peers)
  • Individual differences among learners, understanding differences based on diversity of language, caste, gender, community, religion, etc
  • Piaget, Kohlberg, and Vygotsky constructs and critical perspectives. Concepts of child-centered and progressive education
  • Gender as a social construct; gender roles, gender-bias and educational practice
  • Critical perspective of the construct of Intelligence

The syllabus for Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies will not be beyond school level. Therefore, the candidates must focus more on the school syllabus from Class 6 to 10.

Exam Result

Karnataka TET 2021 results will be available at least 30 – 45 days after the date of the exam. The results will be uploaded on the official website of the Karnataka School Education Board. Candidates can check the results with their admit card number/ hall ticket number.

Along with the result of the Karnataka TET exam, the score-card of the candidates will also be released. The details mentioned in the scorecard will be as follows:

  • Admit Card Number
  • Registration Number
  • Candidate’s Name
  • Father’s Name
  • Gender
  • Category
  • Status of Area (Local/Non-local)
  • Combined Score in Karnataka TET
  • Total Score
  • Result

Cut-Off Marks

Karnataka TET cutoff marks for General and reserved categories is given in the below table :

Selection Procedure

Candidates who score the cutoff marks will be declared qualified. School Education Board of Karnataka will issue a Karnataka TET eligibility certificate to the qualified candidates. These candidates are eligible for the state-level teacher recruitment exam.

Karnataka TET 2021 certificate will be valid for seven years. There is no limit on the number of attempts for the Karnataka TET exam.
