SET Exemptions
Candidates are exempted from SET if they fall under any of the following categories:

- Hold Ph.D / M.Phil / M.Ed in the concerned subject from a Kerala University or recognized equivalent
- Completed 10 years of approved High School teaching service in General Education Subordinate Service
Relaxations & Preferences
- 5% relaxation in Post Graduation marks for SC/ST and Differently Abled candidates (GO(MS) No.288/15/Gl.Edn dated 13.11.2015)
- Preference given to candidates with Ph.D / M.Phil / JRF / NET
- Teachers appointed without B.Ed must acquire it within 5 years at their own expense
Weightage for Non-Qualifying Degrees
Weightage is applicable only for non-qualifying degrees claimed in the application and acquired before the last date.

Kerala PSC HSST Geography 2026 Vacancy Details
The Kerala PSC HSST Geography Recruitment 2026 is notified with anticipated vacancies. The Ranked List prepared by the Kerala Public Service Commission will remain valid for a minimum period of one year and may be extended up to three years, or until a new ranked list is published, whichever occurs earlier.
Candidates will be advised for appointment from this ranked list as and when vacancies are reported during its period of validity. Note: As per G.O(P) No.5/2023/SJD dated 01.10.2023, 4% of the vacancies are reserved for differently abled candidates.
Kerala PSC HSST Geography Selection Process 2026 – Stages
The selection of candidates for the post of Higher Secondary School Teacher (HSST) – Geography will be conducted by the Kerala Public Service Commission through the following process
1. Written Test
- Candidates may be required to appear for a Written / OMR / Online Examination conducted by Kerala PSC.
- The test will assess the candidate’s subject knowledge, teaching aptitude, and general awareness.
- Only candidates who qualify in the written test will be shortlisted for the next stage.
2. Document Verification
- Shortlisted candidates must attend certificate verification.
- Original documents related to educational qualification, age, caste/community, experience, and other claims must be produced.
- Any discrepancy or false claim may lead to rejection of candidature.
3. Interview
- Eligible candidates may be called for an interview, if prescribed by the Commission.
- The interview evaluates subject expertise, communication skills, teaching ability, and suitability for the HSST Geography post.
Final Selection
- A Ranked List will be prepared based on the candidate’s performance in the selection stages.
- Appointments will be made from the ranked list as and when vacancies are reported during its validity period.
How to Apply for Kerala PSC HSST Geography Recruitment 2026
Candidates must submit their applications online only through the official Kerala PSC One Time Registration (OTR) system. No other mode of application will be accepted.
Step 1: One Time Registration (OTR)
- Visit the official website: www.keralapsc.gov.in
- Complete One Time Registration (OTR) before applying for the post.
- Candidates who already have an OTR profile can log in using their User ID and password.
Step 2: Upload Photograph
- New candidates must upload a recent photograph taken within the last 6 months.
- The photo must clearly show the candidate’s name and date of photograph printed at the bottom.
- Once uploaded correctly, the photograph will be valid for 10 years.
Step 3: Submit Online Application
- After logging in, click the “Apply Now” button against the HSST Geography notification.
- Carefully verify all personal and educational details before final submission.
- No application fee is required.
- Applications submitted are provisional and cannot be edited or deleted after submission.
Step 4: Print Application
