Kerala PSC HSST Mathematics 2026 Vacancy
Anticipated vacancies. The ranked list prepared by the Kerala Public Service Commission in response to this notification will remain valid for a minimum period of one year. The list may continue up to a maximum of three years or until a new ranked list is published, whichever occurs earlier.
Appointments will be made from this list to reported vacancies during its validity. 4% of vacancies are reserved for differently abled candidates as per G.O(P) No. 5/2023/SJD dated 01.10.2023.
Kerala PSC HSST Mathematics 2026 Eligibility Criteria – Age Qualification
Method of Appointment:
Direct Recruitment.
Age Limit:
Candidates must be aged 20–40 years. Only those born between 02.01.1985 and 01.01.2005 (both dates inclusive) are eligible.
- Upper age relaxation is applicable to SC/ST/OBC candidates as per rules.
- Upper age limit is relaxable up to 43 years as on 01.01.2025 for qualified Ministerial Staff under the Higher Secondary Education Department, as per GO(P) No. 36/2005/GI.Edn dated 04.02.2005.
Educational Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks from a Kerala University or equivalent.
- B.Ed Degree in the concerned subject from a recognized Kerala University. In the absence of such candidates, B.Ed in the concerned faculty or in any subject will be considered as per PSC norms.
OR
M.Sc.Ed in the concerned subject with minimum 50% marks from a Regional Institute of Education sponsored by NCERT. - Must have passed the State Eligibility Test (SET) conducted by the Government of Kerala or an authorized agency.
SET Exemptions:
- Candidates with NET/JRF, SLET, Ph.D, M.Phil, or M.Ed in the concerned subject
- Teachers with 10 years of approved High School teaching service in General Education Subordinate Service
Additional Notes:
- Candidates with M.Ed in the concerned subject are exempted from B.Ed qualification.
- 5% relaxation in PG marks is allowed for SC/ST and Differently Abled candidates.
- Weightage marks are awarded for non-qualifying degrees like M.Phil, Ph.D, and Post Doctoral Fellowship as per PSC rules.
- Degrees from UGC-approved universities and recognized equivalent qualifications are acceptable.

Kerala PS HSST Mathematics Salary 2026 – Pay Scale
The post of Higher Secondary School Teacher (Junior) carries a pay scale of ₹45,600 – ₹95,600 as per Kerala Government norms. In addition to the basic pay, selected candidates are entitled to Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) or government quarters, Medical Allowance, and other admissible benefits.
