Method of Appointment: Recruitment for the HSST Junior Physics post (Category No. 721/2025) will be through direct recruitment by the Kerala Public Service Commission.
Age Limit:
Candidates must be 20–40 years old (born between 02.01.1985 and 01.01.2005), with relaxations for SC/ST/OBC candidates. The upper age limit is relaxable up to 43 years for qualified Ministerial Staff under the Higher Secondary Education Department, as per GO(P) No. 36/2005/Gl.Edn.
Educational Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Physics with at least 50% marks from a recognized Kerala University or an equivalent qualification.
- B.Ed in Physics or relevant faculty from a recognized Kerala University. In the absence of such candidates, a B.Ed in any subject or M.Sc.Ed in Physics from an NCERT Regional Institute is acceptable.
- Must have passed the Kerala State Eligibility Test (SET) unless exempted under PSC rules for NET/JRF, SLET, M.Ed, Ph.D, M.Phil, or 10 years of approved teaching service.
Additional Notes:
- 5% relaxation in postgraduate marks is given to SC/ST and differently-abled candidates.
- Weightage marks are awarded for non-qualifying degrees like M.Phil, Ph.D, or Post-Doctoral Fellowship.
- Degrees from UGC-approved universities or recognized equivalents are valid for appointment.

The number of vacancies for the HSST Junior Physics post (Category No. 719/2025) is anticipated. 4% of the vacancies are reserved for differently-abled candidates, as per G.O(P) No. 5/2023/SJD dated 01.10.2023.
