There are three admission portals through which you can enter an Master’s program which are:
- COAP or Common Offer Acceptance Portal to enter – IISC, IITs and PSUs.
- Centralized Counselling for M.TECH./M.ARCH./M.PLAN. Admissions(CCMT) to enter – any NITSs, IIEST, few IITs and GFTIs.
- Independent Exams or GATE Score Criteria to enter – Government and Private Colleges.

The Ministry of Education, Government of India, uses NIRF or the National Institutional Ranking Framework to rate higher education institutions in the country. This ranking is based on the different parameters like Research, professional practice and collaborative performance (RPC), Teaching, learning and resources (TLR), Outreach and inclusivity (OI), Graduation outcome (GO), and Perception (PR).
