Pay scale and Grade Pay

The pay scale for the assistant engineer ranges from 15,600 to 39,100 with a grade pay of Rs 5,400.The pay scale for boiler inspector is higher that comes within the range Rs 67,300 – 2.06,900. The MPPSC AE is a group B gazetted post. The candidates selected for the post of assistant engineer will be granted the following allowances mentioned below

MPPSC AE Job Profile 2021 – Roles and responsibilities

The MPPSC assistant engineer is responsible for paying all the employees below him. The assistant engineer also acts as the drawn and disbursing officer(DDO) who has the responsibility of drawing and allocating funds. He also has the responsibility of attestations and acts as the gazetted officer making it a very elite job profile. The responsibility of the assistant engineer can vary based on their departments. Some of the responsibilities of the AE are listed below

• In charge of designing, developing and executing projects assigned to respective sub divisions
• Implement construction plans, write reports and submit before the project manager
• Working with various junior engineers and project engineers coming under their respective subdivisions 
• Preparing and submission of reports to executive engineers
• Allocate jobs to various junior engineers and other staff under him and analyze project related problems.
• Coordinating with various government departments
• Implement yearly plans for preparation of budgets, scheduling of planned works, allocation of manpower, resources and equipment in order to manage the allocated projects properly. The assistant engineer will also be answerable to the higher authorities

Career growth

The initial grade pay for Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission Assistant engineer will be Rs 5400. Later at least within a time span of 5 years they will get promoted to executive engineers with a grade pay of INR 6600. After this comes the Superintendent officer within an additional 5 years time span  with INR 7600 grade pay and then he would be promoted as the additional chief engineer with a grade pay of INR 8800 in another two years and then the highest job profile which will be the chief engineer with a grade pay of Rs 10,000.
