Railways are one of the common public transport used by Indian citizens at cheap fares. Piyush Goyal of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is the current Railway Minister of India. He is the head of Ministry of Railways. Indian Railways are under Ministry of Railways, Government of India. IRCTC is one of its subsidiary. Each divisions are having various Divisional Managers as various department heads like department of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, signalling. Telecommunication, commercial, security, safety, medical, accounts, human resource etc. All DMs are reporting DRMs who is assisted by one or two ADRMs. Every divisions are with control rooms for controlling and monitoring along with Locomotive sheds to maintain diesel and electric locomotives, All these are under the control of Divisional Railway Manager. DRMs are posted from any of the eight services from Indian Railway Services like IRPS, IRAS, IRTS,IRSEE,IRSE etc.

Indian Railways are recruiting through a common board called RRB the railways recruiting board, to fill various vacancies.
