CTET (Central Teachers Eligibility Test)
It is organized for the purpose of recruiting eligible teachers for primary or elementary education in India. CTET Certificate will help candidates to establish themselves as teachers’ positions in one of the KVs or any other Centrally-run Government Schools.
Conducting Body: CTET is conducted by the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) on behalf of the Central Government. CTET Notifications are released twice a year. The CTET application fee for candidates planning to appear in single paper (primary or elementary) is Rs 1,000 and for candidates planning to give both the papers is Rs 1,200.
Age limit: There is no upper age limit to apply for CTET exam.
Responsibilities: Through CTET, candidates can secure teaching jobs in centrally-run government schools like Kendriya Vidyalayas or other centrally run schools.

Educational Qualifications:
Educational Qualification for Primary teachers. Aspirants must fulfil at least one of these criteria:
Candidates must have passed Higher Secondary or equivalent with at least 50% marks as well as have passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education.
Aspiring candidates must have passed senior secondary or equivalent with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education, in accordance with NCTE.
Aspirants must have passed senior secondary or equivalent with at least 50% marks and pass or appear in the final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
Candidates must have passed senior secondary or equivalent with at least 50% marks and also have the certificate of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
Any graduation degree is required and also possesses a certificate of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
Educational Qualification for Elementary Teachers. Aspirants must fulfil at least one of these criteria:
Any graduation degree in the relevant discipline already obtained and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
A bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks must be acquired as well as 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.).
Graduation with at least 45% marks must be done in a relevant discipline and a year in Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard also has completed.
Cut-off: CTET cut-off marks are 60%. Candidates who obtained 60% or above will receive the CTET eligibility certificate.
Salary: The primary teachers receive about INR 1.50 lakh per annum salary while the elementary school teachers receive about INR 2.30 lakh per annum as salary.
TET (Teachers Eligibility Test)
TETs are conducted at state-level by governments of different states. Through TET, candidates can secure teaching jobs in government schools run by state governments only. Candidates are not eligible to apply for teaching job in central schools such as KVS and NVS.
Conducting Body: TETs are conducted by the education boards of different state governments. TET notifications are released as per the vacancies available in the state government schools. The application fee for TET exams vary from state to state.
Age limit: There may be different age criteria depending on the state.
Responsibilities: Through TET, Teachers can gain access to teaching jobs in State Government Run schools.
Educational Qualifications: Educational Qualifications are the Same as CTET but may encounter certain changes depending on the state. However, to be eligible for the job, you will require to be fluent in the state language of the respective state.
Cut-off: Similarly, TET cut off marks are 60 per cent with five per cent relaxation for reserved category candidates.
Salary: The teachers are paid about Rs 1.50 lakh and Rs 2.30 lakh per annum.
