TNPSC Forest Apprentice Eligibility Criteria 2022
There are certain criteria laid down by TNPSC for the recruitment of candidates for the post of Forest Apprentice. Applicants should ensure that they satisfy all these criteria before applying for the post. Applications of those who do not meet the criteria is bound to be rejected. Read on to know more about the required criteria.
Educational Qualification
Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Forestry or its equivalent degree from any University
recognized by UGC.
OR
Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent degree from any recognized University in any one of the following subjects:-
1. Agriculture
2. Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science
3. Botany
4. Chemistry
5. Computer Applications/Computer Science
6. Engineering (All Engineering subjects
including Agricultural Engineering)
7. Environmental Science
8. Geology
9. Horticulture
10. Marine Biology
11. Mathematics
12. Physics
13. Statistics
14. Wildlife Biology
15. Zoology
Note:
- The educational qualifications prescribed for this post should have been obtained by passing the required qualification in the following order of studies viz., 10th + HSC or its equivalent + U.G. Degree
- The results of examination should have been declared on or before the date of notification i.e. 8th August , 2022.
- Applicants claiming equivalence of qualification to the prescribed qualification should upload and submit evidence for equivalence of qualification in the form of Government Order issued on or before the date of this notification

Note: Concession in height will be given to applicants belonging to Scheduled Tribes and races
such as Assamese, Bhutanese, Garhwalis, Gorkhas, Kumoanis, Ladakhese, Mizo, Naga, Nepalese,
Sikkimese and those from Arunachal Pradesh, Lahaul and Spiti, and Meghalaya. The height requirement for this category is as follows:
- Male: 152 cm
- Female: 145 cm

TNPSC Forest Apprentice Application Process
- Applications have to be submitted online through the official portal –
www.tnpsc.gov.in or www.tnpscexams.in. - Applicants must mandatorily complete One Time Registration process. Successfully registered One Time Registration is valid for five years from the date of registration. Applicant should register only once in the One Time Registration by paying Rs.150 as registration fee.
- To complete One Time Registration, applicants should have a scanned image of their photograph, certificates specified, if any, and signature in CD/ DVD/ Pen Drive to upload the same, as per the specifications given in the guidelines for scanning and uploading of photograph and signature.
- Once registration is done, applicants will be given a user ID and password. The login using your credentials.
- Click on “Apply” against this recruitment notified in the Commission’s website.
- Carefully fill in all the required fields. All the particulars mentioned in the online application will be considered as final and no modifications will be allowed after the last date for submission of the
online application. - After the last date for submission of online application, the candidates are allowed to edit their online application during the Application Correction Window period.
- After submitting the applications, save and print the application for future reference.
Registration Fee and Examination Fee
Applicants should pay a fee of Rs. 150 as registration fee for One Time registration. Once paid, this fee has a validity pf five years.
Applicants should also pay the examination fee of Rs. 150 at the time of submitting online application. Check the official notification to know about categories exempted from paying the examination fee.
Fee should be paid online. Offline mode of payment will not be accepted and the applications made with such payment will be rejected.

TNPSC Forest Apprentice Selection Process
The selection process for the post of Forest Apprentice will be in three stages:
- Written Examination
- Physical Test (Walking Test)
- Oral Test
Written Examination: It is an objective type Computer Based Taste (CBT) for a total of 850 marks. There will be four papers as well as as an interview in this section. The mark distribution for each section is as follows:

For Papers II and III, candidates can choose any two subjects from the following 17 subjects. They should make sure that they do not take more than one subject from the same group.

Candidates should secure a minimum of 60 marks or 40% to qualify in Part A of Paper I. Only marks secured in Part-B of Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III will be considered for ranking.
Physical Test (Walking Test): Based on the total marks obtained by the applicant in Written Examination and considering the rule of reservation for appointments, the required number of candidates will be
shortlisted for Physical Test (Walking Test). The applicant will be required to walk over 25 kms and 16 kms to be completed in four hours by male and female applicants respectively, which will be conducted by the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests. The walking test will be conducted only in Chennai.
Oral Test: The candidates who are qualified in the physical test alone will be considered for Oral Test in the specified ratio.
The final selection will be made on the basis of the total marks obtained by the applicants in the written examination and oral test taken together subject to the rule of reservation of appointments. Applicants selected for appointment will be required to produce a certificate of physical fitness in the form prescribed. Applicants with defective vision should produce eye fitness certificate from a qualified Eye Specialist working in Government Hospital.
