TNTET Eligibility Criteria 2022

Candidates applying for the examination must be between the age of 18 years to 40 years.
Educational Qualification
Paper 1
- Higher Secondary or its equivalent with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), or
- Higher Secondary or its equivalent with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, or
- Higher Secondary or its equivalent with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.), or
- Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, or
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)
Paper 2
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.), or
- Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.), or
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of B.Ed. (Special Education)

TNTET Selection Procedure 2022
Candidates wishing to join as primary level teachers (classes’ I-V) will have to appear only for paper 1 and those who want to join as teachers in the medium level (VI-VIII) will have to apply only for paper 2. The TRB will conduct both these papers on separate days and candidates qualifying these papers will be eligible for the TET certificate. Candidates will have to score 60% (55% for reserved categories) and more to be eligible for obtaining the TET certificate which will be offered to them as proof of their qualifying for the TNTET exam.
