UGC NET Exam 2022 notification will be released by the National Testing Agency(NTA) soon on its official website. The NET exam is conducted to find out the eligible candidates for the Assistant Professorship and Junior Research Fellowship across universities and colleges which is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). This is a qualifying exam. There are criteria put forward by the UGC for the post of Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship. UGC on its official website released the list of subjects, the number of candidates who appeared, the number of candidates qualified for Assistant Professorship, and the number of candidates qualified for Junior Research Fellowship.

The exam will be conducted twice a year. In June and December. The exam will be a Computer Based Online Exam with Objective type Multiple choice questions. The exams consist of two papers, Paper 1 and 2. There is no break between the papers. A total of 150 questions carries 300 marks and the total duration of the exam is 3 hours. For every right answer, the candidate gets 2 marks and there are no negative marks for the wrong answers.

UGC NET Exam 2022 Vacancy
UGC NET exam is managed by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Before 2018, CBSE was responsible for conducting the exam. The exam is conducted to find eligible candidates for Assistant Professorship and Junior Research Fellowship. There are two papers in the exam. Candidates need to take the first paper compulsory. It consists of 50 questions and carries 100 marks. Paper 1 has a time duration of 1 hour. For the second paper, the candidates need to choose the subject for which they are appearing. The second paper consists of 100 questions that carry 200 marks and have a duration of 2 hours.

UGC NET qualification for the post of Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship. They are:

| Junior Research Fellowship | 1% of total candidates who appeared will qualify |
For the post of Assistant Professor category, reservation is applicable. The upper age limit for Junior Research Fellow is 30 years and there is no upper age limit for Assistant Professor.

The Vacancy for the UGC NET exam cannot be said Category wise or state wise. The category-wise reservation applies to the post of Assistant Professor. The state-wise list of universities or colleges can be downloaded from the official website of the University Grants Commission. This exam is held as an entrance exam. Candidates who pass the UGC NET exam can only apply for Assistant Professorship or Junior Research Fellow in any UGC recognized university or College.

UGC NET Exam Previous year Vacancy
UGC NET’s previous exam was conducted in 3 phases. Phase 1 from 2021 November 20 to 2021 December 5. The second phase was conducted from 24 December 2021 to 27 December 2021. The third and final phase was conducted on the 4th and 5th January 2022. A total of 1266509 candidates were registered for the UGC NET exam 2021. 671288 candidates have appeared for the previous UGC NET Exam held. From this 43730 candidates qualified for Assistant Professorship and 9127 candidates qualified for Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor.
