The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has invited applications from eligible graduates towards the Combined State / Upper Subordinate Services (PCS) Examination, 2020, and Assistant Conservator of Forest (A.C.F.) / Range Forest Officer (R.F.O.) Services Examination – 2020. Interested candidates can now apply towards these posts on or before May 18, 2020. The selection process involves two stages of written examinations followed by the personality test or the interview.

UPPSC Combined State Upper Subordinate Services Eligibility Criteria
- Age Limit: The candidate’s age shall be between 21 years to 40 years as of July 01, 2020. Age relaxations according to the government norms are applicable.

- For the Post of Range Forest Officer: A candidate who has served in the Territorial Army for a minimum period of two years, or Obtained a ‘B’ Certificate of National Cadet Corps (NCC), or Represented the state in any game, shall, other things being equal, be given preference.

For both the posts, the male candidates will be required to qualify in the walking test of 25 km to be completed in 04 hours and female candidates of 14 km. to be completed in 04 hours. The female candidate who is pregnant of Twelve weeks duration or more should be declared temporarily unfit.

UPPSC Upper Subordinate Services 2020 Selection
The UPPSC Combined State / Upper Subordinate Services, and Assistant Conservator of Forest / Range Forest Officer Services Examination, 2020 has three successive stages viz:-
- Preliminary Examination (Objective Multiple Choice)
- Main Examination (Conventional Written examination)
- Viva- Voce (Personality Test)

Personality Test
The interview is to test the candidate’s aptitude and general suitability for the service. Through this personality test, the interviewer’s will try to relate the candidate’s general interests, academic interest, general awareness, intelligence, character, expression power/ personality, etc. The personality test is for 100 marks.

Paper-I: General Studies
- Current Affairs
- History of India and Indian National Movement.
- India and World Geography – Physical, Social, Economic geography of India and the World.
- Indian Polity and Governance – Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues etc.
- Economic and Social Development – Sustainable Development, Poverty Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc.
- General Issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change- that do not require subject specialization.
- General Science
Paper-II: General Studies
- Comprehension.
- Interpersonal skills including communication skills.
- Logical reasoning and analytical ability.
- Decision making and problem-solving.
- General mental ability
- Elementary Mathematics: Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry and Statistics.
- General English up to Class X level.
- General Hindi up to Class X level.
