The World Bank delegation on May 17 at Gandhinagar, Gujarat, assembled upon the State Health Minister Hrishikesh Patel to address the execution of Systems Reform Endeavors for Transformed Health Achievement in Gujarat (SRESTHA-G). The authority on the same day announced and sanctioned USD 350 billion to the state under the project to enhance the health facilities and services. The five-year total cost of the project will be around USD 500 billion which is estimated to be Rs 3,750 crore. From the above listed entity, around USD 350 billion which is estimated to be Rs 2,625 crore, shall be given by the World Bank. According to the official statement it is believed that the Gujarat will spend Rs 1125 crore in five years. The World Bank officials had a thorough inputs and interactions. The goal is to improve quality, equity, and comprehensiveness of primary healthcare, services for adolescent girls and the capacity of disease surveillance systems.
